We decided on The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay this year to celebrate our 29th anniversary. This was our first time to Half Moon Bay and to a Ritz-Carlton property. The hotel is stunning, everything about it is first-class. Our room was not quite ready when we checked in and we were given complimentary glasses of wine which was nice and we enjoyed them by the fire. Upon check-in we were upgraded from a standard room to a beautiful coastal view room on the bottom floor with our own private firepits.

We were shown to our room and we settled in. Everything was of the highest quality and the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and a separate shower area. The only complaints about the bathroom were that were not dimmer switches and no bath salts or pillows that you would expect in a luxury hotel. The bed was also not very soft, other than that our room was perfect! We enjoyed watching the ocean outside by the firepits with our wine while waiting for dinner Navio. The spa at the Ritz is gorgeous, we used it daily for the mineral bath soaks by the indoor fireplace. The locker rooms are very spacious and comfortable, lots of attention to detail.

The hotel is in a gorgeous setting and you can walk along the paths there, it is situated on a golf course also where we enjoyed playing the next day. There is also an indoor pool, tennis courts and complimentary Electra bikes which we enjoyed riding around after breakfast the next morning. We also found the entire staff at the Ritz to be very friendly and accomodating and professional. There is a $45 mandatory valet service at the resort which is a little steep, we never left the hotel once we checked in. Overall, this is a gorgeous luxury resort on the West Coast and definitely one of my favorites.

We hope to return again for a stay on a special occasion and also to play golf here and dine in the excellent restaurant, Navio. This was an anniversary to remember and the Ritz-Calrton Half Moon Bay did not disappoint. :)

Truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Stayed on club level but we spent alot of our time at the main lounge. The food was quite good on the club level but was a little boring so we did spend time at the main lounge. Friendly bartenders and great sweetbreads! We would love to return in the future.

We had to make a last minute change to our travel plans and our travel agent recommended R-C Half Moon Bay. We were about to be upgraded to a suite, but decided to keep the "normal" club room instead and for a good reason: what an amazing view to the 18th hole + sea from our balcony. Good spa services. Absolutely loved the segway tour! Will be returning with or without óur kids.

The hotel had great view and good service. But the rooms are relatively small and given that it costs over 2x of a Hilton or Marriott it is way overpriced. Their air conditioning recirculates the air, hence the air quality in the rooms are bad, giving you a headache in the morning. The Navio Restaurant has very limited menu and the chef is mediocre (save the pumpkin soup which was the only really well prepared course of our dinner). Again, not bad but for the price I would have expected much better food and much more choices on the menu. The vine list is great, but again, on the overpriced side. Over-all we had an OK experience for a very high price. Not worth to money. Ah yes, and $45 per day for the parking (no self parking available despite what the web site says), plus the wireless internet access is $25 per day. Would you expect these to be free if you pay well over $500 for a room per night? I certainly would.

This is truly what a five star hotel should be. Relaxed with perfect service. Everything about this hotel is excellent. On the same trip we also stayed at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco which while very good is not up to the same standard as Half moon bay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. We had a gas firepit outside our room, enjoyed some business events on the Gazebo lawn overlooking the ocean and saw a crab on the sea. But, because the weather was quite cool this time of year there wasn't much to do apart from golf. We did go for a walk on the coastal trail, which was nice. The town of Half Moon Bay has lots of high-end boutiques and art galleries that didn't appeal to us as middle class folks. The hotel was immaculate and service exceptional.

I have stayed in quit a few high Four Seasons and Ritz, this one by far surpassed all of them. We were greeted at the front parking lot. The people apparently radio all the other employees that you are entering the hotel because everyone greeted us by name. We got a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite ( it was out honeymoon). The resort was so pretty with fresh flowers daily and a view of the ocean and golf course. I had the best massage to this day(and I get massages monthly). The hotel is only about 40 minutes from San Fran and a couple hours from Carmel. We had a wonderful experience.
