The Ritz has a big reputation-but easily lives up to it! This is the creme de la creme of attentive service. I loved the complimentary glass of California wine when you check in-and appreciated the nice fresh apple. Every detail is thought of..great turn down service, lovely bath amenities, even a nice mini lint roller! I felt appreciated and well taken care of. I had a great suite with a fireplace and loved every minute of it!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a fireplace-it makes the entire stay so cozy!

Everything about this property screams luxury. Perched on a cliff over looking the ocean the views are stunning.
It's the service that I appreciate. From the bellman to housekeeping to the front desk everyone has been trained in the art of A + service.
We stayed in an Ocean view terrace with fire pit . Views of the ocean and golf course right outside our terrace. The fire pit was wonderful. Opened a bottle of champagne watched the sunset and snuggled up in blankets that were in our room just for us to enjoy on our terrace.
A big surprise was the strolling bagpiper that made his way around the hotel playing his bagpipes.
We enjoyed room service for dinner and breakfast. No need to leave the room when everything we could have wanted or needed was brought to us.
Spa is fabulous ! I enjoyed an hour facial with an eye treatment add on. My boyfriend got the Signature massage with a hot stone stress relief add on.
It's expensive, but completely and totally 100% worth every penny!

Room Tip: If you can afford it splurge and get an ocean room with fire pit

We just came back from a weekend get away at Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. This is a gem if you need to quickly escape the hustle and bustle of the San Francisco Bay Area. The location, landscape, building, and rooms are beautiful. We stayed in an Ocean Front 1 Bedroom suite with a fire pit in the patio. Pets are allowed only in the Guest House area which is separate from the main hotel building. You can take a nice walk to the main building, or they will send a driver on Cadillac Escalades to pick you up and drive you back.
Everything about this property is nice, except the foods offered at the property NEED IMPROVEMENTS! Basically it's the exact same menu for Room Service, The Conservatory Lounge (lobby Bar), and Navio. We ate at Navio, and because the food was cooked by the chefs right at the restaurant, then it was better. The New York Steak offered at Navio was very good. The same dish ordered at the Conservatory Lounge was cold, bland, and undercooked. I can't imagine how that same dish which was also offered on the Room Service menu would taste.
We would come back here, but unless they change the Foods offered we will be venturing off the property to dine... That changes the whole scenario doesn't it?

We were here two nights for a conference. The cocktail party on the Gazebo Lawn was a perfect location. Te bagpipes were a unique and entertaining touch. The rooms are beautiful and the service very good. The common areas are comfortable and inviting. Half Moon Bay is chilly and foggy and the fireplaces throughout we're wonderful. We were happy to be in the main building; our friends weren't and although they liked their view of the golf course the schlep to the events and restaurant was inconvenient. Next time we will pay for the ocean view room as the views are spectacular.

The beauty of the ocean property has been well documented. Our room was unexpectedly nice - we were upgraded to a fire pit room with the most comfortable bed. When we checked in the fog was so thick we could hear the ocean - but we could not see it (at 3pm). Went to dinner and returned to the room to rosé petals on the bed spelling out "I Love U" with soft music and the fireplace channel on the tv. Our fire pit did not light initially - then out of nowhere a gentlemen showed up to light the lantern below our room and got our fire pit going and he told us to let it burn - enjoy the glow of the fire, and at midnight someone would come around and make sure that it was out. Very romantic setting and everyone at the property was extremely friendly. The breakfast in the bar was very good - not to mention that the view was breathtaking. We were able to enjoy the fire pit and the ocean while watching the golfers prior to check out. A wonderful splurge.

Service is as good as you will ever experience.
Views of the pacific are amazing.
Beach access. Restaurants top tier.
Beds are good not great.
Very expensive for everything from valet to water.
But when you stay here you know that well before you arrive....hopefully.
