“Halloween done to perfection!”
Review of Lemos Farm

A family tradition that we cherish every year, Lemos Farm is the perfect way for young and old to relish the long warmth often around in October for Halloween. The decor and festivities are not to be missed...leave early in the morning if going on the weekend to miss the crowds of people going to Half Moon Bay. If you're their too early, grab breakfast on Main St before heading to the farms.

We got a Groupon.com coupon for this for the Christmas period, which was a pretty good deal for 2 adults and 2 kids all-day pass and $5 off a tree (which, of course, we did not use in March!).

Children all-passes are $15, which covers the pony ride, 'hay-ride' on a truck, a fake 'train' around a static 'ghost' town, the petting zoo and play ground. Adults all-day passes are $5, which covers the hay ride and train ride. Quite inexpensive only if you stay for the entire day. This place is available to be reserved for children parties too.

Older kids will be bored. My two kids (almost 2 and 4) liked it. They especially liked the pony ride. There is really no time limit on them unless there is a queue. My kids were enjoyed the 'petting zoo' of goats. A number of 48-hour goat-kids were there, so my kids loved it too. We spent less than 2 hours and it was drizzling, so we cut our visit short.

The 'train' ride was really a cart pulling a few carriages, around a 'ghost' town filled with board/mannequin characters. Not too interesting. The hay-ride is seating on the bed of a truck with some bay hales, and the ride was really bumpy. I'd pass on them next time.

The Lemos Farm is a great place because it is a cute little family run farm. My kids love to visit.

Lemos Farm is a great place to go during the fall. It's not too big, but has tons of stuff for kids to do. It's a pumpkin patch that also has lots of fun rides, like pony rides, train rides, etc. We like to dress up our kids in their costumes and take pictures amongst the pumpkins. Once you get there, you can spend a few hours just enjoying the place, since the kids will love it. Also, they have very clean bathrooms...kudos to them!!

HOWEVER, the traffic going into Lemos Farm is terrible. The best bet is to go way early in the morning on weekends, like at 9am when they open. We left the South Bay at 10:30am and got stuff on the one-lane highway going into Half Moon Bay for 1 hour!! It was bumper to bumper traffic, going 5mph. Very frustrating!!

Located a few miles up 92 from downtown Half Moon Bay, Lemos Farm has been there since 1942. It's a quirky collection of pony rides, a 'train' through a 'ghost town', a 'hayride' in the back of a flatbed truck, bounce house, play structures and a couple of private party areas you can rent out. They've got a haunted house there, but it's only open during Halloween. October is definitely the best time of year to visit Lemos, when they have corn mazes, pumpkins and all the usual stuff from that time of year. It's a nice afternoon diversion though anytime of year for kids ages 3-10. Older kids will be bored.
The pricing is a little on the high side and the food is pretty basic: hot dogs, ice cream and popcorn. Expect to spend $15-20 per child on the various attractions and more on food.
Lemos is kind of goofy and quirky, a lot like the Coastside. If you've never been, it's worth a stop, especially if your kids need to run around and ride some ponies.
