This is our second stay at Cypress Inn. I highly recommend everyone to check this place. Awesome staff! Great time, great wine and appetizers from 5 to 7 p.m. Our room was at front beach so we had an awesome time drinking wine by the balcony while enjoying the sunset. It's a great place to unwind! It was a relaxing and enjoyable stay at this place.

We struggled in choosing a place, but SO glad we chose this one! We stayed in the Montara room with a partial ocean view - but it was basically a full ocean view. So great - felt like you were in a tree house atop the cypress trees! In room jacuzzi faced the ocean and breakfast table did as well. We took our happy hour wine back to our room and had a little private happy hour! Breakfast was definitely decent. Awesome location right on the HMB coastal trail that connects all the beaches. We've decided to make it a regular trip!

Room Tip: If you don't want to spend the extra money for a full ocean, the Montara room was EXCELLENT. Als...

This was the second time we have stayed at Cypress Inn. The 1st time our room was in the beach house (Dunes Beach) our 2nd stay we chose Las Nubes (clouds) in the main house. The views of the ocean are amazing even the partial in Dunes Beach is wonderful. The 2 person jetted tubs are large and a treat after spending time on the beach. My favorite thing about the Inn is the above and beyond customer service. They offered a delicious breakfast each morning that they bring to your room. We will be back for another relaxing get away. I can't wait to check out Mavericks in the Lighthouse

Stayed at the Cypress Inn in February '13. We were so pleased to find this cozy spot and in such a wonderful location, next to the water and the wonderful walking paths. Great local restaurant down the street, an easy walk. The Inn's staff couldn't have been more accommodating and served the best breakfast you could ask for! They will even deliver it to your room if you request. We had a room in the main building facing the Bay (El Sol Suite?) and it was so quiet, kept the balcony door open at night to hear the ocean. Beautiful sunset and full moon the night we were there - couldn't have asked for more! The room was spacious, a bit outdated but very clean and bright. The most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on! Definately would return, if we're lucky enough to get back!!

We stayed for one night for our anniversary in Feb. We came upon the Inn a year ago as we were visiting Half Moon Bay. At that time I had collected a brochure and dug that out as we considered going to Half Moon Bay for our anniversary this year. We were not dissapointed!

I definitely recommend getting an oceanview roon on 2nd fllor in the main building. We felt we were right on the ocean. At night, we left the door to the balcony open and heard the waves crashing all night. It was an amazing experience. The balcony furniture could use an upgrade.

The front desk staff was very helpful. We walked both directions on the beach for long distances. We will definitely stay here when we are in the area.

Stayed for three December nights in the very comfortable, quiet top floor Mavericks Suite. Check-in was cordial and the man at the desk escorted my wife and I to the room and gave us a quick lesson on how to operate the amenities. He offered advice on local attractions and dining and any questions that would perfect our stay. A small bacony with magnificent views of the Sunsets added to the magic of the property. A Jacuzzi Tub, a gas fireplace and nearby fine dining in either direction up the coast makes for a relaxing romantic getaway. A small Continental breakfast optionally delivered to your room starts the day correctly. The King bed was comfortable and the room tidy. I've also stayed at the equivalant Landis Shores property (just up the street) before, but the Cypress seemed more convienient as far as access, without any popular contemporary "wine foppery" and better parking. The Cypress had a more " Rustic Old California Coastal Laid-back Vibe" and a slightly better vantage of the Bay. It was so laid back that on checking out, I forgot one of my suitcases outside the door of the room. About five minutes later the lady desk clerk phoned me on my cell phone just as I was leaving in the car headed home (40 min. North of San Francisco) on HWY 1 to inform me of my blunder. We had beautiful Pacific Coast weather and nice high tides whose constant waves helped us sleep and wake refreshed. If you like a comfortable, less commercial stay with a bit of decadent modern day luxury thrown-in with spectacular Pacific ocean sunsets (The weather God's permitting as they did during our visit ) with the sound of waves constantly 'sloshing' peacefully- you might agree that the Cypress Inn is a very special slice of Earth.

Room Tip: They have a variety of rooms with and without an oceanview but in my opinion an oceanview (EG: Maver...

We've stayed here three times and each time has been an excellent experience. The rooms are lovely, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast is very good, and the atmosphere and staff are very hospitable. Off-street parking, ocean views. It's more expensive than some of the alternatives, but worth it at least for a special occasion. For non-special occasions we tend to stay at the Comfort Inn, which we also like at about half the price; but the properties are not really comparable.
