We stopped in at Pat's for a late dinner Saturday night. Having sampled breakfast several years ago, we thought we were in for some hearty but uncomplicated diner food. We were wrong.
One companion had the pork loin with mashed potatoes, julienne vegetables, and a merlot wine sauce. He said it was the best he ever tasted. I ordered the chicken marsala, and the chicken was about as tender as you could imagine. Others were quietly demolishing Fettucine Alfredo and Seafood Fettucine with white sauce. Everyone except me had the soup of the day: Tomato Basil - apparently wonderful. For dessert, a few of us concentrated on dessert, a strawberry sabayon with wine sauce. At the end, there wasn't a speck left.
Diner ambiance with first-rate food. I can't imagine eating anywhere else in Guerneville.
