While up in the Santa Rosa area this past weekend, my wife and I decided to take a side trip to Guerneville for lunch. Downtown is not very large, but they do have a lot packed into a very small area (breweries, oyster bars and a variety of resteraunts). We decided to try the Main Street Bistro. What a great surprise. A little dark and unassuming, but they have good food and great service. I had the meatball sandwich, while my wife had the turkey burger. We also split a small side dish of pork belly. Believe it or not, the pork belly was the best choice out of our order. My meatball sandwich was served on a large hunk of bread with lots of cheese. My wife's turkey burger was a little dry, but we'll prepared. Both dishes were served with a side of arugula salad. The pork belly was, on the other hand, outstanding. Overall, I came to the conclusion that their side dishes (bar food) are better than the regular meals. They have a large bar area off of the main dining room with lots of TV's showing different sports events from around the Bay Area. Looks like a fun place for a Friday night or after work get together.
