We stayed at Santa Nella the last week of January for 3 nights. We were the only ones there at the time, but that did not stop Bob & Betsy from going out of their way to make our trip great. they set us up with a driver Gary who drove us around for the day. recommended places for dining for which ever direction we traveled. We returned from the coast one night about 8 and planned on using the hot tub and sauna, they opened a bottle of wine for us to enjoy in the tub. Breakfasts were fantastic, highly recommend this place, the only negative, if you call it a negative, it is about 3 miles from town

Room Tip: Blue room face the front on second floor very quiet room

All weekend long, I kept marvelling at the impeccable maintenance and attention to detail of this bed & breakfast. If you wanted to open up a B&B, a weekend here would be your 101 course.

We enjoyed tasty wine and cheese in the afternoons, chatting with Bob & Betsy (the innkeepers), gliding in the porch swing, snoozing in the comfy bed in front of a crackling fire in our bedroom fireplace, soaking in the hot tub under the starry sky, eating scrumptious homemade breakfasts, and taking advantage of the excursions recommended by Bob to nearby hikes, wine tasting, and restaurants. The tasting discount booklet is a huge bonus, as was the quality of the wineries recommended ("just go to Westside Road").

Every vase had fresh flowers, the newspaper was ready for us in the morning, and the cookies, tea, and brandy before bedtime were delightful. Not a single opportunity for hospitality was missed. We were treated like something between royalty and family.

Even the parking lot is beautiful and well maintained!

We've been to many B&Bs, and this one tops them all.

We stayed in the Santa Nella Inn in September of this year and very much enjoyed the inn, the surroundings, the owners and everything else about this lovely old house. The Russian River Valley in Sonoma County was the location of the inn and the countryside was so beautiful. Bob and Betsy were superb hosts, our bedroom, supposedly and excitingly haunted! was so comfortable and our 2 nights there were one of the highlights of our first time in California. The fabled breakfasts were beyond expectation and we were genuinely sad to leave. We would love to go back some day and enjoy the inn again as well as some more wine tasting in the various vineyards in the countryside.

Room Tip: All rooms have their own charm

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Santa Nella House Bed and Breakfast in Guerneville, Ca. during Christmas-New Years week. This is an excellent choice for lodging in the Russian River area. The quality and value of the "extras" above and beyond what you would get from a hotel were huge: a personalized tour of the property by Bob, the owner, followed by a cheese and wine hour in the early evening. The wine was definitely top notch (Thomas George Pinot Noir), and generously provided. Bob took the time to advise about the best restaurants and provided a discount booklet for wine tastings the following day. Breakfast was GREAT... all freshly made, including eggs from their own chicken. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet, and the hot tub and sauna topped off a wonderful stay. HIGHLY recommended!

Room Tip: The Blue Room was great... didn't see any of the others first hand, but the cottages look very n...

We were fortunate to have Bob and Betsy as our hosts in their beautiful home for our Russian River Adventure. Breakfast was wonderful. Bob and Betsy gave excellent advice on things to do and see. Wonderful restaurants and wineries surrounded by redwoods and ocean. Laid back and low key, great wines and friendly people. Could not recommend the historical Santa Nella House highly enough! Thanks Bob and Betsy!

Room Tip: Many of the rooms have fireplaces. We liked the Gold room. Sunny and Bright.

Bob and Betsi treated us like family. The Inn is gorgeous, the bedroom confortable and quiet the breakfast unbveleivable, Bob is the greatest breakfast chef! he also serves wine and cheese on the patio next to the whirlpool. Bob suggested visiting small, family operated ,winery were we find wonderful wines to bring back home to Canada. If you need a brake from your ectic schedule this is it!
After 3 days, we were completly relax and energized.
By the way, Bob makes a phenomenal balsamic vinegar make sure you taste it.

We spent a wonderful weekend exploring the Russian River and Alexander Valley on California’s Sonoma Coast. We based ourselves in Guerneville and spent the night at the beautiful Santa Nella House, operated by innkeepers Bob & Betsy. It’s right on Highway 116 before you enter Guerneville. Surrounded by giant redwoods, the house was built in the 1800s and has four guest rooms to choose from. We decided on the Library Room which was beautifully appointed, had a lovely open fire place and was close to the outdoor hot tub.

After Betsy showed us around the property and we got settled into our room, we crossed the highway and headed down Odd Fellows Park Road to get our first glimpse of the Russian River. It was lovely to be walking in the cool evening under towering redwoods.

We returned to Santa Nella to find Bob willing and ready to serve wine and cheese. We sipped on Pinot Grigio and snacked on some delicious cheeses and met the other guests; girls from Portland, Wisconsin and Sacramento. Bob was able to make several recommendations for dinner and was very helpful in making our reservation at Applewood Inn which is a very short drive from Santa Nella House.

After dinner we returned to Santa Nella, jumped in the hot tub and soaked under the stars, surrounded by redwoods, then returned to our room and lit the fire.

Breakfast is served promptly at 9am and when we surfaced Bob was busy preparing fresh fruit salad, French toast and bacon. Wearing his chef’s jacket, Bob is a very elegant breakfast host, grating nutmeg over our fruit salad, igniting his flambe and plating each dish with every attention to detail. He really is great fun and a very good chef!

Following breakfast we said our goodbyes and made our way to Guerneville for a stroll around the town. We walked out along the Guerneville Bridge for another glimpse of the river and then jumped back in the car and headed out to explore the coastal town of Jenner.
