“tucked into the woods a luxurious gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2010

the staff incredibly friendly, the spa services (facial with honey!) fantastic, grounds beautiful and pool area is great for relaxing. there is a wide choice of room types and they are so wonderful. decor is modern, beds sleep fantastic. little porches to read on. the town is small, you can walk from this inn to restaurants. what i really liked is that it is tucked into the woods, surrounded by trees, you feel the privacy!

Large spacious rooms; kitchenette; currently building wine garden; would be great for family reunion; walking distance to downtown shops; quiet get away. Staff was wonderful.

Just had a fantastic stay at the West Sonoma Inn & Spa for a much-needed mini-vacation with an old friend. We got a massage & room package that was very reasonable, and had a terrific time. The room was very cozy, the view of the vineyards gorgeous, and we LOVED the private hottub. Our massages were great - I was so blissed out I can't remember the therapists' names! All the staff we interacted with were incredibly friendly & helpful - we felt very much at home. It's walking distance to everything in Guerneville, but enough off the beaten path to be quiet (and the double-paned windows help). Wish we could have stayed longer!

Needed to get away for a few days. Found this online. Not quite the spa I was thinking of but enjoyed myself thoroughly. Spa is small but had a lovely facial and massage. Rooms are wonderful. They have just been remodeled and are clean and spacious. The best was the bed. It was so comfortable that I brought my husband up 3 weeks later to try it and we've just ordered one for our home! The grounds are well manicured and the lobby is a lovely place to sit and read. The breakfast on weekends is a more than adequate continental buffet. The owners Karen and Naveed could not be more gracious. You can see that they have put a lot of love into the inn. I will definitely return.

I have stayed at this Inn twice. Once in the summertime and then again this November. The experience was incredible both of the times that I stayed there. The lobby is beautiful and the service is really great. At times the lobby is not open, but someone is always available to take care of your needs.

The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. One thing to keep in mind is that the town of Guerneville is a little quirky. It is starting to pick up as new businesses are moving in and opening up. A great restaurant Boon and a few gift stores. It is close to Armstrong woods and about 10 minutes from the coast.

Their spa is nice, but they do not have all services available so while their facials are nice they are not performed by aestheticians so you cannot get extractions or peels.

This is an affordable and nice place in a cute town close to wineries and some great restaurants.

My husband and I stayed at West Sonoma Inn for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We have stayed there before about a year ago and had such a nice time, we decided to go again. We had another GREAT experience. The rooms are lovely and the views are amazing! The beds are so comfortable and that's always a problem for us but not here.
What is really wonderful is the staff. They really care about you. We were coming in late and had so much traffic from the bridge being down. I called and Jenny answered and even though she was closing down, she stayed late to check the traffic and called me back on my cell phone to give me a status. WHO EVER DOES THAT? They treat you like family. Jenny also put the heat on in the room and made sure we would be comfortable when we arrived. The entire staff treats you like family. From Vavid, Heidi, Karen and Jenny - we will never stay anywhere else when we come up to the Russian River. If you want a very nice place at a reasonable price with a warm friendly staff: THIS IS THE PLACE. Thank you all very much for being so wonderful, keep up the good work!

We stayed in one of the regular Creekside rooms for a wedding. The bulk of the inn was accommodating people in the wedding party or people attending the wedding. We had the opportunity to go in many of the other rooms during the weekend wedding festivities – we assumed our room was the exception. Both the regular rooms and suites were in desperate need up updating. They were old and worn. Our bathroom window had plastic up on the outside so no one could see in, as it butted up against a store in town - it apparently had some type of spray on the glass outside for this purpose also. The skylight over the tub had plaster coming off - full of dirt and leaves on the outside glass which diminished the light. It, too, had some sort of plastic on the outside. It was apparent there had been many leaks in the past. Space in unit was old, dark and in need of repair. Had that 'musty' smell due to age. Carpet needing replacing. Had the feel of being dirty, but probably wasn’t. Old and worn is hard to give the impression of clean and sanitary. There was a small sink and mirror between bathroom and bed with no real counter top space. For those in Creekside rooms there was a small dirt area to possibly accommodate 2 cars - provide one car wants to sit on top of large tree roots. Two SUV’s could not easily park there. There are 4 units in Creekside section and if you don’t park in that dirt two car area, you have a bit of a walk to available parking on the other side of the creek. There use to be a bridge from the parking lot to the Creekside units, but it, like the units, was in disrepair - it was no longer functioning and had caution signs on it. Should you choose to go there - would not recommend the creekside units. I assume they are the oldest and had the worst parking. The 'suite' units were not a huge step above - only advances I saw were fireplaces and a fridge. We had no contact with staff except at check-in and they were fine. Found the pictures on the website a bit misleading – website looks better than reality - the creekside rooms were not rooms you wanted to relax in, they were rooms you only wanted to sleep in, at most. Room had a built in small heater (12”x18”) which turns on and off all during the night – a lot. You need to hope for quiet neighbors as you can hear the talking in the adjoining units. The town is cute and some good food can be had, but there are so many other adorable inns in the area and tons of better accommodations in Santa Rosa, I would not recommend West Sonoma. Nothing was horrible for our weekend stay, but the quality - or lack thereof - of the accommodations was a surprise - a surprise we will not repeat there. Had our reservation been refundable, we would have left early and gone to another inn. Not what I was expecting for 190.00 and having seen a sampling of all the other locations in the complex, we will neither recommend, nor return.
