We stayed with another family member overnight to attend a family function and the Surf Motel exceeded my expectations. The two double beds were soft and covered with puffy comforters, which were pleasing in the chilly weather. I appreciated the size of the room, the refrigerator for our use, and the abundant hot water--also the in-room hair dryer and the iron. I was very pleased with the view of the beach from our room. The breakfast includes fresh eggs (scrambled or boiled), sausages, biscuits with gravy, freshly baked scones, juice, milk and coffee, dry cereal and yogurt, and the staff will make a waffle while you wait. We all enjoyed our choices. There is a small problem with space at breakfast. It might be alleviated with an outdoor heater by their patio tables.
The Surf Motel does not offer Victorian quaintness and the food selections of five-star international hotels, but I gave it five stars for value at their price range.
