“Do not eat here.”

We were recommended this and how disappointed we were. Pretentious, lukewarm food, over priced and tasteless. The worse service and food of our entire 3 week road trip!

“Food was fancy but lacked finesse”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2012

We ate the greens and goat cheese salad and the caprese salad. The food was fresh but the greens and goat cheese had to many dried cherries and the caprese had to much balsamic vinegar. My husband had the ribs and these were dry. The French fries that ce with the ribs were the best part of both of our meals and we don't care to much for French fries. I had the sea bass and filet mignonette on risotto rice. The rice was good but the filet had no flavor and was not rare. The sea bass was okay. The waitress was very attentive and did a nice job.

“Great food where you may not expect it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2012

Don't be put off by the quaint 'old-time' exterior of the Groveland Hotel, or the decidedly old-fashioned look of the restaurant. the people in the kitchen clearly know what they're doing, and provide what is probably the best food for miles around. I had spicy shrimp and artichoke, followed by chicken breast stuffed with crabmeat & herbs - imaginative combinations and delicious. This restaurant also surprises with a huge wine list (majoring on local producers), including probably the longest 'by-the-glass' list I've seen for a long time. If you're staying anywhere near Groveland, this place is definitely worth seeking out.

“Great food in Groveland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2012

Had dinner at the Groveland Hotel on our way to Yosemite Earth Day weekend. Great food, great service. A little pricey, but not more than you would pay in a regular sized city. Awesome soup trio to start, fantastic ribeye for entree, perfectly cooked, great sauce. Too full to try any desserts. Limited children's menu, but they can do entrees for half price. Would go again next time up there.

“Nice dining experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2012

Very nice dining experience. Kim and the Chef were very accomodating to our special requests. The food was excellent and prepared well. It's not often I go out for a steak and get it prepared the way I ask for it. My wife has special dietary needs and Kim was very helpful in making suggestions for my wife.
