We stayed at a local cabin in Groveland and wandered into town after visiting Yosemite for the day. We were tired and hungry...probably not in the best of moods. The welcome from the front desk upon entering was extremely friendly. It lifted our spirits and made us glad we came. We were promptly seated and fussed over by several people. They brought my daughter coloring pages and crayons and hung her 'art' in the front window of the hotel. Without exception, everyone made us feel special and welcome. We loved the experience. The food was very good (not great) but we were very pleased with the whole evening.
We ended up coming back the next night because we felt so comfortable there.

My husband and I have been to the Cafe Charlotte several times and we always have a great experience. I've tried several of the dishes and they are delicious. The steaks are perfectly prepared and never overcooked. The New Zealand rack of lamb is great and I normally don't order lamb because it is difficult to prepare. The pasta sauces are bold and flavorful. Start with the Calamari it is seasoned perfectly and has a beautiful delicate, flaky texture. The service is attentive and informative offering great suggestions that make your dining experience that much better.

We both love wine and the great wine list was an added plus. The selection is great and very reasonably priced. You are sure to find the perfect wine to compliment your meal.

Finally, I have to say a word about the lobby which is quaint and inviting. It reminds me of a European locale with guests surfing the internet and playing board games. The giraffe is a hoot. Don't miss this place it is great!
