“Beware of the steep driveway.”

Stayed for one night after a day at Yosemite. Upon arriving we were offered a complementary glass of wine. We were shown to our room. Our room faced the highway, so we could hear road noise, luckly wasn't too bad. Our bed was ok, but not great. Room had no tv. Blinds on the door were in need of replacement. Too much light coming in the room at night. Nice porch, so you could sit outside and enjoy the view. In the morning they served a continental breakfast. With the price we paid for the room, would have rather stayed in a hotel with a few more amenities. The people running the place were not very personable.

We happened upon this find after checking prices at Yosemite N.P & were quoted prices there at $190pn. We paid $100 plus tax at The Bershire Inn for a great room with a king bed and a balcony overlooking forest. It came with a fabulous continental breakfast & Kevin made us some great zucchini bread to go with it. There is a lovely balcony you can have breakfast on.They also provided complimentary wine & nibbles in the lounge room from 5pm. The room was clean quiet and only a 30 minute drive from the National park entrance. Which we didn't mind. As the scenery up there & back was great & we had a national park pass anyway. There are no tv's in the rooms which add to the feel of being away from it all.We would highly recommend The Berkshire Inn to anyone.

Stayed here last minute for 2 nights and was greeted by friendly staff. They accidentally charged my account twice for the wrong amount but corrected it immediately and was very apologetic and kind about the entire process. The room was quaint and clean but the walls are very thin so bring your earplugs. The location is just about a 1/2 hour from the entrance to Yosemite, 1 hour total to the valley floor. I was excited to come back to a warm shower and comfy bed after long days hiking in Yosemite. I'd definitely would stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed the stay...

Room Tip: Standard room was plenty but the walls are thin so bring earplugs.

We stayed for 8 nights at The Berkshire Inn as 2 adults and 2 under 5's.

The Inn is 30 minutes drive to the west gate of Yosemite and a further 30 minutes to the valley floor or 1h 15mins to Glacier Point, which was no problem to travel every day as the views of the countryside are so beautiful.

The Inn was built 20 years ago and is a lovely building in itself which spacious rooms, TV/lounge area and a great terrace. The view is fantastic for watching the sunset.

All of this said this is not a 5* Inn in the normal sense as decor is very dated, beds are not brilliant and updating is needed throughout. The real treat here is the service we received. Britney was an amazig host and really made our stay 5* going above and beyond on so many things. She really makes the place work and her ongoing presence means the Inn will continue to improve.

No hesitation in recommending a stay at the Berkshire Inn, a great 8 days!

Room Tip: Room 5 was great

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely 3-day break at Yosemite, staying at the Berkshire Inn. The inn is beautifully designed and furnished and very different to the de facto standard alternative Days Inn/Comfort Inn/etc. Decent continental breakfast served. The people were very friendly and helpful.

Based on the reviews, what a difference a year and new owners make. We trusted the latest reviews and were rewarded with a pleasant stay. The inn is as convenient as anyplace on the north side to the entrance to Yosemite, actually being a couple of miles closer than Groveland. Kevin was an attentive innkeeper. The building and bedrooms were clean. The bed was comfortable, although we only had a fan for air movement in the room. Breakfast was typical continental fare: cereal, pastries, bagels, fruits, juice, tea, coffee and what appeared to a very tasty homemade bread. There was plenty to eat. For lunch, try Stan's Que in Groveland. Weather was nice enough when we arrived that we sat on one of the many balconies wrapping around the main building, sipping wine left out for us, as we enjoyed the view and watched the sun go down. There was a TV in the common room. Wi-Fi is provided. We found the inn to be comfortable.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Compared to other places in the area, the price was reasonable. Unfortunately the hot tub was not working. The continental breakfast the next morning was what you might expect at Comfort Inn, but not at a B&B. We were there on a weeknight in September and there was only one other couple staying there so it wasn't over crowded. They have Wi-Fi and a comfortable lounging area.

The Inn was further out of town than we anticipated, but not a problem for a less than 5 minute drive to town. Not sure that I would want to stay there for a week, but for an overnight or if travelling in a group where you can take advantage of the common area rooms which there are plenty of, then it's OK.
