Took a day trip from the SF Bay Area to Pine Mountain Lake and enjoyed a delightful lunch here. Owner was our waiter, and he was warm and cordial.l My lunch was delicious (club sandwich one of the best I've had recently). Recommend you try it!

California's oldest continuously operating saloon, this Gold-Rush era building has huge iron doors that came around the Horn, to protect the building from the frequent fires in the area (the walls are local granite). About an hour away from Yosemite, this is a great place to stop and have a bite and a beer. Their food is simple yet well-done, and the atmosphere of stuffed animal heads, ancient farm and ranch implements and Gold-Rush-era items is not to be missed. They have live music on the weekend, and a larger cafe (with espresso) attached. Families are welcome, and it's quite a nice intro to the area. Bartenders are very friendly and able to give advice and ideas for touring the area.

My husband and I went in for a couple of drinks on a Thursday night. The locals were all very friendly and introduced themselves and were interested in where we were from. We were made to feel like locals ourselves. Brent the bar man was excellent and it turned into a very fun night with the addition of Karaoke. Great old saloon with lots of history and interesting old photos and artifacts from the gold mining days.

the food is average, drinks and food are overpriced. Sometimes they get a good bar band though...
