Yosemite Pines RV Resort and Family Lodging
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Four families camped together here with 1 RV and 3 tents. We planned the trip to see Yosemite. The highlight of our trip ended up being a day trip to Rainbow Pools which was only 10 miles from our campsite. Here there is a waterfall into a deep swimming hole with streams on either side for kids to explore. A 25 foot rock to jump off and a slide off the side of the waterfall with an 18 foot drop into the water are great for the adventurer or to be entertained by the adventurers. Several kids in our group made the jump and slide ages ranging 8-12 years old. Yosemite park was about an hour drive from the campsite on windy roads. We made the trip on 2 days and it was amazing but next time hope to stay in the park for this. The campsite was clean, had amazing hot showers and wonderful friendly staff. There is a nice pool, petting zoo, nature hike and movie outside on Saturday night. We loved the place and all 9 kids want to return ASAP!

We stayed here in our RV for five nights and LOVED this campground. I read many reviews before choosing a campground and am glad we chose this one. My girls ages 7 and 9 had the freedom to explore like I remember as a kid. Their favorite part was going inside the petty zoo each morning during feeding time to pet the animals. The staff and camp hosts were very friendly, and our site was well shaded. We extended our stay an extra night to spend one more day in Yosemite Valley. It is about an hour drive to the valley floor, but it is a beatiful drive and we didn't mind making the trip each day. We will definately return and bring more friends. If you are traveling north from So Cal, be sure to follow their webisite driving directions, especially if traveling with an RV.

The staff person that booked our stay was knowledgeable and helpful. She booked us in side by side back in sites (44 & 45) with plenty of space for our group of 10. We had stayed there before so we were aware of the drive into the valley. There is an rv park about 15 miles closer to the entrance, but it is about $15 a day more. We have also camped in Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows several times, and Yosemite Pines is our favorite for family events.

We showered at different times of the day and the rest rooms were always very clean. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo and other activities. We've stayed there several times and will return.

Was glad to get camping site somewhat close to Yosemite during the summer. We stayed during the week and it was really empty! The tent sites were very small, I'm sure I would have rated worse if it was full, we would be on top of each other with no place to park. The first site they gave us was not level for a tent so we requested another site, no problem in changing. The women working in the office/store were not real friendly and a bit slow, but the couple that cleaned the main restrooms did a great job and very friendly. The roads in the park need some work it felt as though we needed a four wheel drive to get up the steep hills, some gravel would have helped over the sandy areas. Some outhouses would have been nice in our area, as we had to walk quite a ways to the main restroom. The pool was nice but awful sewage smell. They had lots of activities for the kids. Don't think we will be back.

We tent camped for 4 nights at the campground. I will say the staff is friendly, the bathrooms/showers are clean with hot water and they have lots of activities.(Volleyball, horseshoes, tether ball, pool, petting zoo and hayrides) The only downfalls were the tent sites were very small and there was a sewage odor near the bathrooms/pool that was TERRIBLE!! The campground was about 20 miles from the entrance to Yosemite and then it was another 20 miles to the valley which is where most of the activities are located. It would take us about 1 1/2 hours to get to the valley due to the curvy/hilly roads. You really need to stay in Yosemite Valley if at all possible and you need to make reservations like 6 months in advance.

We bought a 2 night stay at Yosemite Pines through Groupon. I upgraded to the Premium Cabin from the Standard Cabin and It was 100% worth it. They honored my Groupon for Memorial Day weekend when the prices are higher and a 3 day minimum is required. Our cabin was Clean, well Maintained and Ready for us when we arrived. The staff was more than friendly and invited us down to the campfire for Smores the first night. I honestly found nothing wrong with this place! I can see us returning for many years to come!

Room Tip: Upgrade to Premium Cabin. It's worth the extra $$

We stayed 2 nights in the very cute deluxe cabin. I really don't think 5 people would fit in one though. It was quiet and a nice place to stay but we NEVER had hot water for a shower the entire weekend. We were able to get some warm water for a few minutes to wash dishes the 2nd day. We told them that we had no hot water our first morning expecting to have it resolved when we returned, weary and very dirty from our 2nd day in Yosemite. Nope, had to shower in the group facilities which was less than clean and comfy. Our only real complaint but a really big one. I was quite peeved! Oh, I had to put on my makeup in the truck each day as there is no light above the bathroom mirror. The built in beds are too short for tall men.
The outside BBQ was nice and the kitchenette facilities were just what we needed for our meals. I would recommend staying but make sure you have hot water!
