We ate at Buck Meadows 3 times -- once for dinner and twice for breakfast. We also had them make up sandwiches for us for hiking in Yosemite. They didn't disappoint any time. Dinner had us trying their prime rib "special", a good size portion for about $18. Very reasonable, to say the least! Breakfasts involved omeletes, hash browns, pancakes, the usual fare. The portions were large and flavorful. The only downside to this place is their A/C couldn't keep up with # of people in the restaurant, and their kitchen was way too small for the number of people they were trying to serve. As a result, the temp was rather warm and wait times for food could be long. So get there early!

It must be really hard to hire good servers and cooks up in the mountains where they are. If they were at a different location, I'd say it's unacceptable. But given where they are and that they don't have much competition, we've kept stopping by for 15 years now although we sometimes wish we hadn't.
