I've passed through Groveland at least 20 times going in and out of Yosemite but never saw any reason to stop there--now there's a great reason! I had a lovely late afternoon Sunday lunch, consisting of a superb ham and artichoke heart quiche and an excellent salad (garnished with candied pecans and fresh blueberries and strawberries), washed down by excellent black currant tea. I hope to have more stops there in the future to try Dori's other specialties. Only one critique, however, which kept it from being a perfect meal: Although I was the only customer in the more formal dining room (as opposed to the sandwich/gelato/espresso up front), the simple meal was very slow. If you are expecting to spend a fair amount of time in a pleasant setting, you'll be perfectly happy--if you need to get back on the road in less than an hour, either get one of the informal cafe offerings or come back when you have more time. A small criticism, and I'll make the time for it next visit!
