Beautiful clean rooms with a full breakfast you order off the menu. The hotel is gorgeous and the town is so cool. Do the walking tour of the town it's very intersting - it's a very old town. The Mexican resturant down the street is authenic and delicious. The little meat market down the road sells handmade, fresh delicious sandwiches! Have enjoyed my stay here don't want to leave!!

My wife and I stayed for three nights and had a great time. Yes, Groveland is a very small town, but it has character and extremely nice folks. None nicer than the folks at the Groveland Hotel. Really neat place with a lot of Old West character. The room was fine and the bed was very comfortable, which was good medicine after a long day in Yosemite NP. Yosemite is about 30 mins away (Hwy 120 entry) and another 30 mins to Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. The Groveland Hotel has a fabulous restaurant and it's the only place I recommend if you want excellent quality and service. A real luxury for such a remote location. Complementary breakfast was made to order and was top notch. The owner, Peggy, put the undeniable charm in this historic place over 24 years ago and was a joy to meet. She is also a great source of info about the general area and nearby Yosemite NP. I highly recommend this fine Inn and don't forget to chat with Peggy.

The Groveland Hotels offer you a peek at what it may have been to stay in a hotel during the boom days of the west. The rooms were small but comfortable with the modern conveniences of phones, TV's and internet. The beds were comfortable and the staff con not have been more pleasant. The restaurant offer a good morning selection and the dinners were very good with a good wine selection as well. You are within easy access to Yosemite as a bonus.
If I were going back I would stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms no at the front of the building would probably be quiter and if you are bringing the kids you...

The Groveland Hotel is a place for the guy who likes old stuff but the wife that still likes a more classy and 5 star hotel. Rooms where clean and food was 5 star as well. Make sure you read up on the two local ghost. Makes the stay that more fun.

Our room was small, but quite comfortable, and the very best shower. All the amenities were provided including bathrobes. The historic hotel had touches that were in line with the "old ways" if you will. There was a note written and placed on the dresser letting us know if we needed anything to just let them know. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and we were able to choose whatever we wanted from a menu. That was a nice touch. The porch is lined with hanging flowers and it is really quite quaint. There was a cat that seemed to have run of the place that we had to guard against getting in our room whenever we opened the door. They had some locally made soap and other small gift items in the foyer along with post cards. We chose them for their proximity to Yosemite and if ever in that area, we would stop there again.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor due to not being able to use the stairs - there didn't seem to be an...

We arrived around 6pm in Groveland after travelling all day and visiting Yosemite. We dropped into the hotel and luckily they had a room available. We landed the Sierra Nevada room which has a door straight out to the balcony. They have lovely homely touches - antique furniture, lots of pillows, teddy bears on the bed. The bed was very, very comfortable and we slept well. Yes, it is on the main road into town but we barely noticed the road noise. We had the air conditioning on so probably blocked the noise a little.

Breakfast was great and included in the room price (highly recommend the omelets).

The staff we very friendly, helpful, good sense of humour and nothing was too much problem.

We dined at the Mexican restaurant, Cocina Michoacana which was great. A bit of a wait to get a table but obviously shows that the food is good. Very large meals and tasty.

I would probably give the pub 5* but it was a bit pricey. We expected this anyway as we didn't book in advance. If you bear in mind that it is a hotel/pub style accommodation and not a five star resort, you won't be disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Room Tip: Room 15 is apparently haunted by the resident ghost, Lyle. The Sierra Nevada room has direct access...

The room was cozy and comfortable. Next time we will select and upstairs room though because shades on the porch open from the bottom up only so had to be kept closed to keep passer byes from looking in.
Downside is that we had only 2 tv stations. Since we chose to forego kereoke at the neighboring bar it left little else for entertainment. Since the charged an extra $4.50 on the bill for erroneous power charges it seemed reasonable to expect them to offer up a credit for lack of television. When I suggested utterly the woman said she was filling in and would pass the request to the front desk manager on Monday. I don't have high hopes but will update this review if that happens.
The hotel restaurant food was out of thus world fabulous!!! Definately worth it!

Room Tip: Stay upstairs
