We found this great little gem as we were touring the Russian River Wine Country. It is located in the small community of Graton and well worth finding.

We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the fall afternoon. The servers were great and attentive.

My husband had the flat bread with Gorgonzola and caramelized onions. It was absolutely wonderful! I would recommend trying this or at least splitting it as a prelude to your main course.

I had the frisse with lardons. I haven't seen this on a menu in the States even though it is fairly common in France. The poached egg on the top was perfectly done. The lardons were just like I have come so fond of in France and the frissee with their dressing just make the whole "salad" perfect!

Family members who have a home in Sonoma chose this gem for a get together. Graton is one of those places that appears to be relatively untouched by tourists.

Underwood is deceivingly charming, with a somewhat rustic exterior and a contemporary interior. The menu offers a nice selection of good for your heart and not so good for your heart. Between the 5 of us we ordered a variety of dishes . Each and everyone found their meals to be terrific. We went with veterans of the place and chose to sit on the covered porch, away from the exuberant bar, giving us the opportunity to speak at conversational levels. Relaxed service (which some complain is neglectful) but we found to be just what we needed. Great wine list and a terrific selection of cocktails.

This is a really nice, casual place. The bar is a great meeting spot and is a big favorite with the locals. Food is good and the service is friendly and relaxed.

In an remote-ish corner of Sonoma county, a bit west of the crush of vineyards and restaurants of Santa Rosa, the Underwood delivered a fun, rustic, homey dining experience. Known for great cocktails, we instead enjoyed a bottle of Merry Edwards Pinot Noir. (Just down the street is the tasting room, also worth the trip.) Food at Underwood was great. We went the Tapas route, and loved every bite. Some kid-friendly stuff on the menu too.

Never judge a Book..... This tavern looking restaurant is Fine Fun dining at its best!!!!! Everything from our appetizer to our Creme Brûlée was over the top!!!! Make a reservation, it ills up early!
