“Mining museum tons of memorabilia”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

This museum is full of mining memorabilia, plus a very large pelton wheel. It is pretty much a guide-yourself place, but the grounds are pretty and the building is nicely restored.

“Great guide!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

We loved hearing all about how the mine worked and seeing the demo of the Pelton Wheel. Or guide, who is there on Tuesdays is a wealth of information and stories. B prepared to learn a lot of interesting stuff.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We walked here from the fairgrounds where we were camping at the Draft Horse Classic. I expected a small museum, but we were surprised by the size of the fascinating collection of artifacts both indoor and outdoor, helpful hosts, and a nice picnic area too. I'm interested in old photos, and they have a lot of them showing the area's history. Very worthwhile stop.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Love this spot. The museum is small but very authentic - and i love the creek running alongside with a great spot for a picnic lunch and the kids to run out some pent up energy!
