“fun joint”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

beer was good, duck fat fries were good also. The two of us had a small wait but the benches out front made it nice. Their beer selection was great and tasty.

“Disappointment”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

A friendly, but distracted and forgetful waitress brought us our food between stops visiting her friends at another table last Thursday afternoon. The mussels were well cooked, not overcooked, but the broth was bland and tasteless despite the chorizo allegedly put into it. The grapefruit and prosciutto salad was somewhat tasty, although by merely piling some prosciutto on top of one side of the mixed greens it looked like it was merely an afterthought and not part of the salad. The french fries in fried in duck fat were superb. The beer, however, was disappointing in the extreme. A reasonably well done porter was followed by a series of over-hopped, over-herbed, floral, and lavender-reeking ales.

“Not good.”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Service poor. Food expensive and crappy.

Try the Italian place next door, it's better.

“Good afterwork or lunch place”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

HBC is a fun place to go for lunch or after work. You always run into friends. The food and the service is pretty good.

“Hollister Brewing company lunch”
Reviewed January 9, 2012

I didn't like my Jamaican chicken salad at all. Although my friends had the fish tacos, I should have ordered that. Wouldn't necessarily go back there. The food was far better on property at Bacara. Sorry. :(
