“Great setting - good golf course”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

A fantastic setting for golf. The ocean views are amazing. The course is okay but a few holes are flat out poorly designed. Weekend prices (which start on Friday) and their use of extremely high grass just past the rough (slows play) are negatives. Helpful shop staff and good snack shop food are positives. They need more marshaling too. Ultimately the views make it a very positive and memorable day.

“Try the restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

Sandpiper is a public golf course in Goleta, just west of Santa Barbara. It is situated on a stunning property overlooking the Pacific. We went out there to have lunch at the Grill. It is a casual place, with indoor and outdoor seating, all with spectacular views over the golf course and the ocean. The food, basic and hearty, was excellent. The service was friendly and cheerful. As a lunch place, it's a million dollar view in a comfortable place for minimal outlay. Try it.

“Incredible”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

OMG what a beautiful course. Blows away Torrey and Pebble. There are 2 holes that are a stones throw away from the waters edge. Anyone who says anything other than the course is increcible must not like the coast.

“Ocean facing course”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

What a great location overlooking the Pacific Ocean; nice little food cafe and golf shop; pleasant staff. Some friends called it "the poor man's Pebble Beach" - I wouldn't go so far as to say that, its ridiculous, but the price is right and the location is super

“Great views, lousy course conditioning”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

Here's the lowdown...staff are friendly, greens are pretty decent, views of the ocean are excellent on 6 holes, but the tees, fairways, and rough are "public course" poor, and the traps don't have enough sand and are left too shaggy around the edges... The casual weekend golfer may find this course a unique treat, but a serious golfer will see that Sandpiper is a public quality course that happens to be on the coast. But at least we got some pretty coastline pictures.
