We had a fantastic time here. My sons favourite part of our holiday was the pool here, despite various log cabins in the woods in Big Sur!!

The pool, gym, rooms and restaurants are all amasing. We had a great evening meal, and food around the pool was also great. The alcoholic iced drinks around the pool are amasing - if a little potent - there is one with champagne and peaches which is great!!

Staff were geneally helpful, and nothing feels as though it is too much trouble.

Only downside, great view spoiled by offshore oil rigs...

Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the amazing Spa facility at Bacara. It is extremely well-run, feels very private and exclusive, you will not want to leave. My friend and I booked 80-minute massages, and relaxed in their private upstairs lounge afterwards, reading magazines in our cozy robes by the fireplace. We continued the indulgence with showers, hot tub, steam, & sauna before heading upstairs to the lobby bar for a casual dinner with friends. I had always heard amazing things about this resort, but I have to say that the Spa experience takes the cake!

Room Tip: Ocean view is worth the upgrade, GO for it!

This hotel is lovely - the rooms are a great size and the hotel bar and food are perfect - the only complaint to some people would be that it is dog friendly (i didnt bring mine yet there were ALOT of dogs) - the only thing to worry about when staying here is the weather - the area can be quite foggy usually and its very secluded so you basically are looking at a 30min drive to santa barbara if you want to dine or shop elsewhere.

The rooms are very comfortable with balconies and just about every amenity you could need. Views from Miro Restaurant are a great way to wake up. They only have valet parking a $30/day, but Internet (256kbs/sec) is free throughout the property. We did not get charged a resort fee, but were able to use all the spa facilities. The Sandpiper golf course (with 6 holes on the ocean) is right next door. Rates seem to vary a lot... We paid $319/night, which seemed about right for the quality of the resort. However meals and services on site are expensive (but very good) and as mentioned add valet and high local taxes and you're at $400+.

Room Tip: Some ocean view rooms are better than others... And some garden view rooms have partial ocean views. Try to get a room where the sun shines on your balcony during the day, as this allows you to enjoy your balcony on cool days.
