We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The dining areas are bright and the atmosphere is casual. A young man brought water and bread to our table immediately. After that the service was rather slow and unremarkable. I ordered a small Caesar salad and the Crab Cake appetizer as an entree. The Caesar salad was the worst I have ever been served. The whole leaves of Romaine were limp and the dressing was thin with a prominent taste of vinegar. There was almost no parmesan cheese on the salad and no fresh ground pepper offered. The crab cakes were delicious, probably the best I have ever eaten. The three slim cakes had little or no filler. They were well seasoned, nicely browned and served piping hot. Kudos to the chef for the crab cakes! My husband had the Potenta Tort as an appetizer. This was also nicely done and well presented. The portobello, bell peppers and warm ricotta cheese were stacked between two rounds of soft polenta. As an entree he had the shrimp, garlic and spinach pizza. The thin crusted pizza was good but short on shrimp and spinach.
The wine list is acceptable as was the bottle of white domestic wine we ordered. There were two large parties near us and at times the noise level was uncomfortable. It is difficlut to rate this restaurant. Some things were hits. Others were misses. Our overall experience was just average.
