We had a delicious tasting of some old world wines here recently. They have a lot of varietals that are not grown/made in California. Our server was knowledgable. They put submitted artwork on the labels of their wines which is where they get the name Imagery, I guess. They allow picnicing on their grounds, which we really appreciate since that seems to be a harder thing to find at vineyards.

It was modern but also cozy and friendly. A big tasting room with really friendly service and a nice outdoor space with bocci ball and lounge areas. Great wines. I liked them even better here than at their sister winery Benziger. If you like more European styles, you'll like tasting here.

We stopped at Imagery to do a tasting and pick up some wine. The staff person was personable and knowledgeable. Of the wines we tasted we liked the White Burgundy and a couple of the more full bodied reds. We tried the Merlot with chocolate covered blueberries. Although we were not blown away by the Merlot the candies were great! Sometimes it seems like they are doing a very hard sell on their wine club.

We visited the Benzinger winery with another couple and received a complementary tasting at Imagery by paying for the Benzinger tram tour. Realizing Imagery did not serve food we purchased lunches elsewhere and enjoyed a lunch on the patio. We then went for our tasting inside and it was by far the best tasting experience of this trip to Sonoma County. Our server was excellent and the wines were all very enjoyable. Also, the tasting room is quite bright, apparently because the building was initially a brew pub, thus the windows.

Hey Joey, I just opened a 1998 Imagery Malbec that has been in my cellar since the day it was released 20 years ago. Lynda and I were questioning if it was still good. It was perfect. Nice job my friend. You always have been and still are my favorite winemaker. Cheers, Bob Nugent
