This was our first wine country tour so we didn't know exactly what to expect. We had a reservation for a tour, but arrived early. No problem - our tour guide / pourer took us right away. We found him to be be engaging and helpful and he answered all of our questions. The tour itself was fairly quick and more about the history of the owner and property than about the process of making wine. We tried several different wines and ended up buying a selection to have shipped home, so the pours were free.

Olive oil tasting was next on my wife's to-do list. They had an interesting selection of oils and Balsamic vinegars. We decided to hold off on buying any of the oils as we planned to stop at another place on our way home. We ended up deciding that one of the olive oils we had tasted at BR Cohn was the best and were about to call to have the oil added to our wine shipment when we saw an email telling us that the wine had already shipped! So we'll save that for another order...

My wife and I first visited B.R. Cohn Winery about five years ago on a trip to the Sonoma Valley, and very much enjoyed the experience. We both made their Silver Label Cab one of our favorite wines. Neither of us are wine experts, but we know when we like a wine and we know when we don't like a wine. And we normally choose a reasonably priced wine in the $10-$20 range, which the Cab was.
So, we were exicted on this return trip to the Sonoma Valley to see if B.R. Cohn wines still held up to our expectations. And they did.
The staff was very friendly and helpful during the tasting. And we took advantage of the nearby picnic area to have a glass of our just purchased wine and look out over the beautiful rows of grape vines in the valley in front of the winery.
We can't wait to return on our next trip!.

We stopped by for a tasting on a weekday afternoon. The tasting room was empty. We got 4 small pours for $10 each, half off with a coupon from the winery finder app. The service was not rude, but was uninviting. Our pourer did not engage in conversation by initiating it or responding to questions with any detail. After our 4 pours (most other places I expect 5 for $10 or even 5 for $5) we tasted some olive oils, but neither the tasting room nor the food shop were particularly interesting. Overall an average experience, but I would not recommend it to a friend.

Nice winery. Decent wines but nothing amazing. However, great place to relax outside with a bottle of wine and some good friends. Pretty views and comfy tables. Good snacks at a reasonable price.

First off, did you know that BR Cohn has the oldest olive trees in Sonoma County? Bruce Cohn has been the manager of the Doobie Brothers for over 30 years? This is so much MORE than a winery! We had Marshall as our host and he was VERY professional, he really knew the wine well and challenged us with our tasting for pairings and combinations, it was so much more than a tasting. He was lighthearted and fun, made our stay very relaxed. They have an excellent gift shop filled with delectable vinegars, olive oils, honey, gift items. This is a must for a tasting tour. The Zin was my favorite.
