Owner description: Transcendence's "Broadway Under The Stars" is a series of award-winning concerts featuring accomplished Broadway and Hollywood performers under the stars in the majestic open-air winery ruins in Sonoma's Jack London State Historic Park. Performers from Broadway and beyond, including artists from The Book Of Mormon, Wicked, Les Miserables, 42nd Street, Hairspray, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia and more. Each evening begins with pre-show picnicking on the great lawn, alongside the vineyards of the park (with multiple wineries pouring and food and wine available for purchase), and concludes with an evening of inspirational entertainment that Before It’s News dubbed “...goosebumps all around.” Recently named "Theater Of The Year" for the second consecutive year by Broadway World San Francisco and the #2 "Outdoor Concert Venue You Shouldn't Miss" in the United States by USA Today's 10BEST, this concert series offers sensational evenings in wine country you'll never forget.

The Sonoma Valley is fortunate to have the Transcendence Theatre perform 4 different shows this summer in the outdoor theatre at Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen. We have attended the first two shows and were entertained to our delight. The setting is magical sitting outside under the stars. The performance is professional and most enjoyable. By all means take the opportunity to picnic on the grounds and enjoy the wine offered before the show (and at intermission). We took our food the first time and did not the second time. The waiting for getting food there was too long so we will take our own again when we attend the Gala on August 31. This company also puts on children's programs during the week and has been involved in the local community. A great addition and what I believe will become a signature event for locals ad tourists in years to come.

"Broadway Under the Stars" gave us a terrific night of entertainment in a beautiful setting. Take a dinner picnic with you or buy the food for sale and add a glass of wine for purchase from several wineries who are set up on site.

The performance was 2 hours long with a brief intermission, and we loved every minute of it.

The bathroom facilities are "porta-potties", but there are plenty of them, and they're well maintained. Unless you have a VIP ticket, you might want to take something soft to sit on. And if you're not used to summer evenings that can turn brisk in the Sonoma/Napa area, take a blanket or warm jacket to keep warm.

Arrive early and enjoy a picnic before taking your seat in the old winery ruins at Jack London State Park. This very professional show with amazing talent has four different shows this year ending on August 31st. As word gets around, it might be harder to get tickets for your preferred dates/shows as the seating is quite limited. A not-to-be missed special experience in this beautiful Valley of the Moon setting.

Transcendence Theatre at Jack London State Park delivers a stellar experience each and every performance. Where else can you enjoy the thrill and excitement of Broadway all while nestled in the spectacular vistas and energy of the home of Jack London. We love to spend time visiting Sonoma /Napa, savoring the many tastes and delights and capping off our day by having a picnic and just the perfect wine, then theatre under the stars. Mahri and I subscribed for the entire 1st Season 2012 and intend to repeat for 2013. Thank you for bringing Broadway to Sonoma !
