We stayed at the Olea Hotel in July for 3 nights. Everything about this hotel was wonderful - the rooms, the food, the staff, the hot tub, the patio.

The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice also - very spa like. They provided complimentary snacks which was great for taking on the road during the day.

The food was incredible. Breakfast is provided each morning and starts with pastries, yogurt, juice and coffee and then is a 2 course meal with fruit and a muffin or bakery item and then an egg/meat dish. The server was so nice and recommended places to go and restaurants.

There is also an outdoor patio area with tables, lounge chairs and couches surrounded by beautiful trees and great views. They also have complimentary local olives (so yummy) and wine.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Sonoma area. Absolutely the best.

Room Tip: We had a hillside room. There was a great view from the deck.

We had a wonderful experience staying two nights at Olea Hotel. We stayed at the end of our Highway 101 trip and it was a truly relaxing experience which made the perfect end to our vacation. The staff is attentive to every detail and willing to accommodate for almost any need. This is a quiet sanctuary. The grounds are beautiful, it is quiet and relaxing to sit out on the patio. They serve dessert with a wine pairing each night, and if you are out at dinner late they will deliver it to your room. The bed is divine, as is the spa bathroom. We were not lacking for any amenities while staying here. Oh, did I mention the breakfast?! It was delicious each morning. I am a vegetarian and they were great about accommodating for my dietary needs. We were never hungry!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 12, which is below the office/breakfast area. We could hear people walking around...

This hotel is set back off the road in a lovely wood land area. The outdoor patio has loungers and armchairs and tables. A beautiful area to chill and relax. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. The bedroom was large and nicely furnished, bathroom very large with the best shower ever. A nice touch was free snacks in the room.
We were in room 12 which is under the kitchen. The only downfall to this room was that at 6.30am the kitchen staff came in and there was a lot of noise and music playing. Room 11 and 12 are under the main lounge and kitchen area. We had a lovely patio area outside our room which was nice for sitting at night or early in the morning.
This hotel is very quite and does not provide evening meals. We went to the Glen Ellen Inn on recommendation of the hotel and it was very good.

Room Tip: Rooms 11 and 12 are under the lounge and kitchen. Noisy from 6.30am. Maybe better to choose a differ...

My girl friend and i have just returned from a 2 week road trip across California. We chose Olea as our retreat during the wine tour portion of our trip.
It was important to us, that this particular segment was the best and we are pleased to say it exceeded our expectations on all levels.

Julie was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, informative welcoming and more; and was a delight to meet each morning. She helped plan our days with ideas and suggestions and always followed up the following day with remarks pertaining to the day previous.
Davesh was polite and a pleasure to meet each morning as he executed a wonderful breakfast menu ranging from fresh fruit to olive biscuits/scones and the variation of eggs.

Rooms were of perfect size and proportion and fully equipped with large flat screen TV and perfect bathroom. (the only thing to keep you from the vineyards and wineries is the shower head - amazing!)
The verandah/terrace for each room is a romantic addition to enjoy the bottle of wine your brought earlier that day, and if your feeling more sociable the communal patio is perfectly placed.

A parking space for each room makes life even easier, and the vine yards start just minutes away. (Ask Julie - she will happily help you get started)

Theres so much good say - but its best you see it for yourself.
We will be back - and hopefully everyone we meet will get the chance to experience it, we will highly recommend it to everyone we can!

Room Tip: there are no bad rooms

Glen Ellen is a little hideaway one horse town in the middle of the wine country Sonoma Valley. And this is a little hideaway hotel up a winding residential country lane only 10 minutes stroll from its centre. The hotel gleams with impeccable white paint that you hesitate to touch in case it is wet (but it isn't). Rooms are small but fully equipped, including a basket of nuts and sweets (candy). You can sit outside on you verandah and sip the wine, cordial or coffee that is available all day - just enjoy the quietness and peace. Staff help you plan your visits to local vineyards and other attractions and recommend restaurants in the town and beyond. There is a small plunge pool and a terrace with loungers under the cork oaks.

Breakfast is the main event however. It is elegant, imaginative and delicious, with a different menu daily that includes fruit, light herbed muffins, yoghurt and variations on eggs that are as delicious to eat as they are to look at.

This was a peaceful interlude after the frenetic buzz of San Francisco. Go there and chill!!

This is a lovely small hotel tucked up among the oak trees in Glen Ellen, convenient to town and all that Sonoma has to offer. We stayed here recently over our wedding weekend with a large group of our friends and family, and they did a great job of taking care of us. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and modern, extremely spacious, with luxurious bathrooms and plenty of seating. The patio up on the hillside is gorgeous and a great place to sit and relax. We really enjoyed the gourmet breakfasts, selection of coffee and teas in the morning, and the hot tub late at night, and although we had an issue with the room they went above and beyond to make things right for us.

Room Tip: The cottages are tucked away and are quite private.
