My wife and I wanted to stay in Glen Ellen to do some nearby wine tasting in Sonoma (we typically stay/taste in Napa). I am not exactly sure how I came across Olea Hotel, but I think I was searching for Bed and Breakfasts in Sonoma and this Hotel popped-up. Whatever the case, all I can tell you is that we were incredibly impressed with the hotel and our stay. Specifically:

1. When we checked-in we were greeted with wine and a great place near the lobby to hangout, picnic and relax. The staff (owner) that checked us in was incredibly nice and did his best to accomodate us.
2. We stayed in a cottage and it was awesome - it was a standalone room that was perfect for us. The room seemed 100% new and was very nice.
3. The grounds/lobby area of the hotel are very nice and seem high-end.
4. The breakfast in the morning was incredible - the chef is extremely talented and very nice.

Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations. The staff was nice, the room was great, and we'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: We loved the cottage - very private!

Olea is truly a destination hotel! We stayed in a cottage, which is separate from the rest of the hotel, nestled behind the jacuzzi area. The fruit trees and beautiful landscaping make it very private. The cottages are modern with big flat screen TVs and fireplaces. The EO products are a really nice touch - we smelled like lavender all weekend! This is no typical B&B with a continental or buffet breakfast. Instead, they serve a 2-course breakfast made to order. It was delicious! And they still have pastries, yogurt, etc. if you're in a hurry or want more food.
The Hotel has gorgeous grounds with views of the valley. The location is perfect for wine tasting in Sonoma, Glen Ellen or Kenwood. This is what I imagine people who reminisce about Napa before it became too touristy experienced... We had an incredible weekend. We were already planning our next trip on the drive home!

My husband and I had a lovely weekend getaway at the Olea Hotel. We stayed in a room on the first floor and found it to be spacious, modern, well appointed, very comfortable and relaxing. I loved the attention to detail in the bathrooms including the lavender soap, shampoo & conditioner. The breakfast cooked by Chef Khambay was DELICIOUS! Seriously, one of the best meals we've had. The staff was very friendly & made our stay at the Olea a weekend to remember. I highly recommend the Olea for a getaway weekend to wine country. It's such a perfect location - only minutes away from the top wineries. I can't wait to come back to this lovely hotel!
