Having stayed 2 nights at Beltane Ranch we enjoyed the ranch which has so much more to offer than just nice rooms. The flower garden in front of the house, the lawn with comfy chairs, tennis court and even 2 hiking trails around the grounds with vineyard and horses let you feel like being part of the sonoma country live. The breakfast is 2 course with homegrown produce and will be brought to your room/terasse or in the community room if you like. You can also enjoy the homemade wine (Sauvignon Blanc, Beltane Ranch) with USD 29 not a real bargain but tastefull and somehow speacial to enjoy the sunset and the wine you can see from your porch. We experienced nice and friendly staff at welcome desk, breakfast and the gardens around. Even though this place is lacking a bit of the typical personal charme and more being managed like a smaller hotel we felt almost like home. Glen Ellen is just 10 mins drive from Sonoma city but all the big vineyards around and really good restaurants and winebars in Glen Ellen are even closer and less touristic. Will come back!

Love this place! Would like to give. 4.5 if available and will say it was a 5 star experience for us. :) This is a sweet, small B&B with only 6 rooms plus a cottage, so perfect for a restful, intimate country experience.
The room was comfortable (not 5 star, but very nice and more spacious than photos online show). We were upstairs with a gorgeous view overlooking gardens, fields, olive trees, vineyard, and Bob, the pet bull. Large porches and seating areas provide many relaxing spaces to enjoy the place. Several small roads and vineyard paths provide opportunities for walks and runs. This is a place to slow down and literally smell the roses and taste fresh raspberries off the vines!
Breakfasts were wonderful! Each day a slightly different surprise, all delicious and with nice variety of foods. Great coffee available from 7:30AM and cookies, tea & coffee all day. There are some restaurants within a 5-10 min drive and the ability to bring one's own picnic dinner and eat here, with great views. A refrigerator is made available to guests to keep food.
Horses, a couple bulls, turkeys, dogs, geese, etc. around to provide a true country feel.
This place is often booked on weekends for weddings; we stayed mid-week.
Helpful staff to plan your day adventures.
Wifi available. NoTvs.

Room Tip: RM 1 upstairs corner overlooking gardens was very nice with separate seating room. It has a queen a...

The Beltane Ranch is a fantastic choice for anyone wanting to relax and take in the scenery and all the offerings of Sonoma County and California wine country. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in providing tips to explore local dining options and things to do. We were directed to some fabulous restaurants in the town of Glen Ellen, less than 5 minutes away which also have a great higher-end market for groceries, lunches, snacks, etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our freshly made breakfasts each morning - a different and delicious breakfast each day and a great way to start the day. The grounds and gardens are impeccable and has numerous locations for sitting and relaxing, drinking a glass of wine, or playing a game of tennis. We stayed in the cottage which was clean and comfortable. We arrived to our room each afternoon with freshly cut flowers from the garden. Freshly baked cookies were also available every day in the kitchen. Fortunately there were some great areas to do some running to burn off the calories! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering it and hope to be back in the future.

We had first seen this spot in The Five Year Engagement, and it looked pretty cool. We booked a night to get away and spend some time outside San Francisco and check it out with an eye towards a possible wedding. It was amazing. The staff was very cool, the food was incredible, and we had an amazing day and night on a gorgeous property with lots to explore.

Very close to Sonoma for dinner and an afternoon walk (we did both), and easy to get to the awesome grocery in Glen Ellen for a bottle of wine and some cheese to enjoy (did that too).

Very romantic, loved every minute of it.

Can't say enough about how idyllic this place is. Beautiful rural area, wonderful people running it and cozy, comfortable rooms. Tranquil views of gardens and orchards are wonderful when there they're drenched in rain or in sun. Delicious home-made breakfasts outside and great coffee. Perfect for romance - you can even get married on the grounds. Or come alone and just relax. Very close to wineries.

Room Tip: The cottage with wrap-around deck is delicious.

This place was really just wonderful. I cannot say enough good things. From the minute we drove up the long driveway I was in love with the look and feel of it. We were only there for one night and really wish we could've stayed longer. We stayed in room 2 which was very spacious. Both staff members we interacted with were lovely and eager to make recommendations for restaurants, walks etc. They make their own olive oil which they gave us to try and also make their own wine. Lots of trails/small back roads to walk in that take you past the vineyards, through the olive trees etc. and lots of beautiful outdoor spaces, swings, hammocks to sit and read a book. Great location near lots of great wineries, about 10-15 minutes from sonoma. Breakfast was served between 8:30 and 10 which was nice to have that flexibility that many bed and breakfasts don't give you.

This is a wonderful place. A working ranch with horses, cows, chickens, etc. They have lush gardens with beautiful flowers and herbs that grow like hedges. Fig trees with ripe figs just there for the picking (it's OK to pick) along with olive trees and grape vines. The hosts and their employees are special people that just exude love. A special mention goes out to Angie who helped us out of a little jam we got ourselves into. We stood in the Cottage, the accommodations are rustic, no TV but who cares. The breakfasts prepared by the owner are divine and the company around the breakfast table was indeed friendly and intellectually stimulating. If you are not inclined towards a communal breakfast they will bring yours right to your room. They also produce an estate Sauvignon Blanc that is to die for. This is just a wonderful place run by wonderful people you can't miss here.
