Had dinner there on 11/29. While busy, the restaurant was uncrowded and we were easily seated without a reservation. The onion string appetizer was huge and enough for 6 people. The tomato bisque soup was creamy, smoky and perfect temperature. The double-cut pork chop was tender, grilled just right and tasted of wood smoke. It was presented on top of creamy polenta and wild mushrooms. Unbelieveable flavors! We finished with a chocolate truffle cake that was moist and outstanding. We had enough food to take home leftovers and enjoy a full meal again the next day. The wine selections were very good and the price for wine is well below most restaurant mark-up. We had a 2008 Pinot Noir from Galante Vineyards in Carmel Valley, CA, that was smoky and fruity and wonderfully accompanied the soup & chops. The server was efficient, gave us great recommendations for dinner selections and delivered courses of food only after we completed the previous course, has a few sips of wine, relaxed and had the remainder of the dinner. The owner, Adam was constantly in the dining room and made sure the food was done correctly and that we were enjoying the experience. Dinner was accompanied by live, subtle background music. All in all a great evening and dining experience, all in Gilroy.
