“Papa John's who?”

I have been going to Bonello's since before my wife and I have been together and we've been together for over 20 years. The pizza is the absolute best in the Southbay! I also love their antipasto and their sandwiches. Highly recommend to anyone weened on franchise pizza places.

“Delicious New York Pies and More”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

I love Bonello's New York Pizza in Gardena, CA. It has been around since before I was born and has friendly, local service and of course delicious food. I discovered it when I was going to school at El Camino College, which is across the street from Bonello's NY Pizza. It is a family owned business, and the owner, Ben, knows all his regular customers by name. They don't do delivery, but I like to call ahead and order either a pizza or delicious sandwich for pick-up. They also have a nice covered outdoor seating area if you feel like eating and relaxing between classes.

My favorites are the Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich, Mushroom Pizza by the slice, and Pizza with Sausage, Olives, & Canadian Bacon...droool! The best part is that the owner makes all the dough himself, which makes everything taste so fresh and yummy.

I noticed that some of the older reviews mention some menu items that are no longer on the current menu, like that Philly Cheesesteak and Calzone's. I'm sure those were amazing back in the day too. This place has been around for more than 30 years. If you stop by, check out the old black and white photos of when the owner and his family first came to the US from Sicily, Italy on Pan Am Airlines.

If you live in the South Bay, Gardena, or go to school at El Camino College, you gotta stop in and try the food here. It's so good!

“Best pizza in Southbay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

Definitely one of the best pizza's around! The owner is friendly and I found out he was born in Sicily and grew up in a pizza shop in Brooklyn so you know he's legit! Try the sicilian and you won't be disappointed!

Pizza isn't the only great food here! The Philly cheesesteak is to die for! Not to mention the Calzone. We have to come here 2 or more times a week! Tony's bread get's you hooked! ohh... the pastas!
Salads are a meal in itself. Can't meet nicer people than Tony and Angie. They bring New York and Sicily to California!
Warm friendly atmosphere makes you feel like home!
