Came to this buffet not expecting much. Was only buffet we could find in Disney area. Walked in and restaurant looked as expected. Outdated and a little run down. However, the food was better than expected. They had everything a buffet should have. Buffet was good price, $12, but drinks were overpriced. Buffet had steak, chicken, fish, pastas, and the salad bar was good. Everything fresh, which impressed me the most.

I'd been to Hometown Buffet many times in different areas without any problems. It was late, we (3 of us) were hungry, so we opted for HTB. We got there about 45 minutes before closing. Although there were many items to choose from, a few things were gone or the staff did not seem thrilled to help us. They promoted a mongolian stir fry but had to wait for the shrimp. When it was finally made all the ingredients were limp and soft not firm and crunchy as one would expect. Looked like the food was kept heated (veggies) , the noodles had been sitting, and the meat or shrimp, if they had it, was precooked. Therefore all they were doing was reheating tha already cooked fod to make it into the platter. Other food items were running low or gone. Generally I have not had problems with HTB but I usually go during lunch. For the price at dinner (about $11 each) even with a small discount (about $1--at least now you just get the discount, don't have to "buy" one of their frequent diner cards) I did not feel it was worth it.
