We just returned from the Residence Inn Anaheim after staying 3 nights in early June 2010. This hotel compares less favorably to our other excellent stay at the Residence Inn in Alexandria, VA. The pluses are many with a few minuses. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite with a king in one bedroom and two queens in the other bedroom, plus sofa bed. The room has a great layout with living room, very nice kitchen, table for 4, sofa (room holds 8 with 2 on sofa bed!) and coffee table. Separate bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice. Three non-flat screen TV's are included. Our major complaint was that only 2 rooms of this type were available due to renovations that weren't mentioned on the hotel web site. We had the choice of two locations, both on lower floors on a busy street (Harbor Blvd) next to a bus stop. We could hear traffic and bus alarm. Staff told us other room locations were not available due to room renovations even though we made reservations several months ago and requested a "higher floor". A maintenance worker confirmed the renovation work and said that this work is usually done in the winter but was delayed this year due to a budget delay.

That said, the room was very clean, nice and comfortable after getting used to the street sounds. It was a big money saver for 5 people. Free parking and free breakfast included. The nightly (Mon - Thur) manager's reception was not close to the manager's reception in Alexandria, VA. We only ate at the hotel one night and enjoyed dull pasta and rock hard garlic bread with ok salad. The breakfast was mostly good with a huge hot and cold selection with ample seating including a kids area with Disney movie etc. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive to Disneyland (left on Harbor, left on Ball Rd, then left into Disney parking area). The pool is large with max depth of 5.5 ft. Separate small toddler pool and a separate hot tub that was quite nice. This is definitely a family hotel with many kids from zero to 100 years old. Keep you eyes open and be careful with the hot drinks. This hotel is a good deal and the pluses outweigh the minuses.

We will never stay in another hotel again while in Anaheim. This hotel has all the comforts of home including a separate bedroom for the kids and a full kitchen. A complimentary FULL breakfast every morning, basketball court, three pools, and barbeques to use on the patio make this hotel the best!
If you are visiting Disneyland with kids, this is the place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel for my husband's birthday and our daughter's first visit to Disneyland. The front desk staff (Brianne) who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. Their buffet breakfast is the best!!! So much to choose from! The staff that serves it in the morning are friendly too! The hotel is in a very good location. Close to a lot of restaurants and Target. We will stay at this hotel again!

The rooms looked great, the staff was helpful.
I took a van shuttle from the airport and that was a husstle had to wait 45 min till the shuttle filled up. On the return the hotel recommended a sedan service & to my surprise it was only $45 for all4 of us and they provided a car seat and a booster for my 1year old and for the 4yr old free of charge. I highly recommend this service. the name of the company is Amg transportation 714-476-9453 overall my experience at the hotel was great

We love this hotel for our trips to Disneyland. We had a 2 bedroom suite that had 2 Queens in 1 bedroom and 1 Queen in the other. Each had their own bathroom. This was great for 2 separate families of 4 adults and 3 kids total so we each had our own bedroom and a shared living room and kitchen. We had plenty of space for us all and never felt cramped. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was truly a highlight...we aren't talking about some rolls and donuts it was a full breakfast buffet including two different types of scrambled eggs, all the fixins to make breakfast burritos, french toast, make your own waffles, bacon, fresh fruit, oatmeal and all the fixins, a variety of breads, yogurt, a variety of juices, milk and coffee. Pretty much anything you could ask for. If you factor the cost of your group going to breakfast each day that really saves a lot of money.

The pool area is great, it was very clean, the pool was warm, there was a kids wading pool, and a hot tub that was the perfect temp of about 102. There were multiple large gas barbeques along with a huge counter for food prep. There are several tables out there to sit and eat and also a gas fireplace outside to sit around. The sports court is great too for the kids who loved playing basketball in a contained area.

The staff were all friendly and professional. The gift shop had a lot of great Disney items at really reasonable prices. You can also walk to some restaurants across the street such as Outback and also hit up some fast food places like Del Taco. There are two liquor stores within walking distance as well as a Vonns about 1/2 a mile away that we walked without difficulty. If you plan in advance this hotel will do the shopping for you.

All in all this is a great hotel that has a lot of nice amenities and they go the extra mile to make a it a great stay.

We arrived early to check in, and they were able to accomodate us. We had a two bedroom suite with full kitchen. Breakfast is great. It does get crowded, but we were always able to get our food, and find a place to sit. I would recomend going down around 8:00. We were here over spring break, and the hotel was packed. The staff is very friendly. We were only able to attend the evening reception once, and it was great. BBQ by the pool with face painting, and balloon animals. We were on the 8th floor and our room was quiet. We were here during the earthquake, and the 8th floor really swayed! As we ran our of our room, the maid pointed us to the stairs, and even held the door open for us as we ran down. They handled the situation well, checking the elevators several times to make sure they were safe. It is too far to walk to disneyland. You will have to use ART, which wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, even over spring break. My kids (ages 13, 8 and 3) loved this hotel. They are begging to stay again.

We arrived on 3/27 for 9-nights, it was going to be a long stay and one that we would actually unpack our bags since we were staying a while. We read reviews about the Residence Inn (RI) and decided to try staying in a 2-bedroom suite with a common area and kitchen. Normally we stay at either the Anaheim Suites or Embassy Suites, but because the rate of $179/nt for a 2-bedroom, no fee for parking and free breakfast, we decided to book it. Also note that in the rooms there are 2 queen beds compared to the other hotels that usually have 2 double beds.

Arrival was uneventful, we requested on the internet reservation for a high floor, we were on floor 4 out of 8 (a blessing in disguise as we soon found out from at times long lines for the elevator), anyway we were told that if we wanted a high floor we should have called the hotel directly. We had a room all the way at the end of the hall by the fire escape so we found ourselves taking the stairs occasionally to our room only 4 flights up...however at the end of a long day at Disney that's tough to do with sleepy kids.

The room was initially clean, beds were soft, lots of pillows, but usually not enough towels. It started to go down hill after the first day as the cleaning service for the following couple of days was terrible. towels weren't replaced, no bath mat, trash wasn't emptied, just a quickly made bed and maybe the place was straightened up a bit. After the second day we had to complain to management. The assistant manager was very attentive to our situation and explained that she would personally see to it that our room was cleaned to our satisfaction for the rest of our long stay, and it was I never had so many clean towels in a room before. They even sent us a basket of goodies as an apology with a personalized note. Impressive for a place that was catering to families, but that's why I prefer Marriott properties.

After this we could focus on our stay. As others have said, take the Anaheim shuttle to Disney, it stops out front and goes directly to the park. Breakfast can be crowded, we were there during Spring Break, but if you go down before 8a there's lots of food and less of a crowd. We never experienced food running out. On the subject of food, make sure you pick up the cookies around 9p every night that the staff puts out for the weary tourists as they make their way back from Disney. Can't comment on the pool, but it always looked well used as well as the basketball court. Hotel is walking distance to Target, Starbuck's, Red Robin, Joe's Crab Shack, Bucca di Beppo, etc...

All in all a well run, comfortable and convenient family hotel considering the amount of people in it. Don't expect Four Seasons because you're not paying that high a price at the RI.
