Just got back from our first trip to Disneyland!
We had a great time and will be back as soon as we can!
We did some seaching on the internet for hotels and came across a website that mentioned The Residence Inn Anaheim hotel. The pictures of the rooms and the lobby and pool area were great and we looked into this hotel more by phoning the toll free number listed. The service over the phone was excellent so... with a leap of faith,we booked our family of 6 into this hotel.
When we arrived on Sept. 30/06, we were greeted by a very friendly staff who gave us the keys to a very clean and sizeable room! We were very pleased overall with everything. The beds were very comfortable and when extra towels and blankets were needed, we had them within minutes!
The hot breakfast every morning was nice to wake up to. Of course, the kids loved the warm wafffles daily and we enjoyed the fact that we could just zip down for a quick breakfast and then get on with the day.
The pool was enjoyed daily and the kids loved the giftshop!
It was really nice to have free parking available to us as well. We never had a problem finding a place to park.
The location to Disneyland is great as well. Only about a 10 minute drive and close to a number of great restaurants and shopping!
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, clean, well managed hotel!!

There was a large group of us meeting there. All family. Various ages from 5-55. we booked 2 rooms. One 2 bedroom suite & one 1 bedroom suite. We got there early in the morning & the 2 bedroom was ready. The 1 bedroom wasn't ready until 3:30 PM, but both were nice, clean, spacious & comfortable. For 7 of us (6 adults, 1 kid) we were glad to have the 2 bed/bathrooms, saved lots of time. The other group shared the 1 bedtroom suite which was also fine for them. Free breakfast is not to be missed. We used the dishwasher for cups mostly so no one had to do dishes. The refrigerator we kept full of drinks & fruit. AAA got a great rate, the 2 bedroom was a little more than anyone wants to pay, but after we got there, it was well worth it. It's still cheaper than a Hilton, Hyatt or big name hotel & you get more for your money here, I think. This is going to be where we stay from now on. Beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. Staff was friendly. Great dinner places so closeby, and shopping. Easy access to freeways, no problems w/parking. We stayed 4 nights. close enough to Disneyland. Kind of far from Knottsberry Farm & Medieval Times. Very far from Universal Studios. The rooms look exactly like they do in the hotel website pics.

The only thing we wanted was for the pool to stay open past 10 pm, security comes to ask you to leave every night & the hot tub sure felt good after a long day of walking in Disneyland. Also the pool towels weer more like a large car wash rag/shop towel than a pool towel, and that wasn't very nice, but minor detail. Some meat wouldn't have hurt either at breakfast, all sugars & carbs, not much protein, other than eggs. Waffles were great!

We had 2 adults 2 kids (5 & 6) in a kids suite. Very roomy and nice to have 2 bathrooms. King bed very comfortable, even though all four of us ended up in it. We stayed for 4 nights and only used our car once to go to Knotts Berry Farm (Didn't care for Knotts) Shuttle ran pretty smooth and always had room for everyone.

The hotel is located about 1/2 of a block away from Outback, Joe's Crabshack & Red Robin. We would come back each afternoon for a nap and then walk over to have dinner. After dinner we would walk over to the Marriott Suites Art pick-up to go back to the park. Very convenient.

Breakfast was pretty good each morning....eggs, waffles, pancakes, cereal, fruit etc...Enough room for all to find a place to sit.

If you have chosen this place to stay for your visit, you won't be disappointed. We usually stay at 3-5 star hotels. I thought this was very nice. They do require you to sign a statement that you will not party etc..., which I didn't mind at all.

My daughter and I did a week vacation in Orange County from September 10, 2006 to September 16, 2006. We stayed at the Residence Inn and they were incredible! We arrived to the hotel around noon and check-in time wasn’t until 3 or 4 pm so I doubted our room would be available but wanted to let them know we were here anyway. To my surprise, they told me my room was ready and checked us right in – quick and easy!! We stayed in Room 505 which overlooked the pools – beautiful view! We had a separate bedroom with two queen size beds, one bathroom, a vanity area. A full kitchen and a living room. There was a tv in the living room and the bedroom so my daughter could watch what she wanted and I watched what I wanted.

We had a rental car, but plenty of places within walking distance – Red Robin Restaurant, Buca di Bepo, taco place across the street with great fish tacos, Target, coffee houses all along Harbor Blvd. In fact, heading either way along Harbor offers a lot of eating places!

Positives:

Helpful and friendly staff – let me check in early – like 4 hours before check-in!! Always able to provide directions when I asked and very cooperative about it.

Great response from housekeeping – had to call them on just a couple minor issues: I didn’t know how to work the air and the toilet was clogged, but great response and issues resolved fast!

Clean hotel and room.

Great breakfast buffet – scrambled eggs with meat (ham or sausage) and plan scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, muffins, juices, hot oatmeal, cereals, bagels, potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt – unbelievable!!

Great reception early evening – only had it once and got there late, but they still had fettuicini, garlic bread, egg rolls, pop – very good! They provide a menu tacked to the fridge in your room as to what they will be serving each night.

Great beds – very comfortable – like I was floating on a cloud!!

Very clean pools and pool area and very pretty – tropical looking with palms, etc.

Always had a parking spot and we would get back late at night.

Negatives:

Low water pressure when flushing toilet.

Keys didn’t always work – had to keep re-trying them to get them to work.

The only other negative and this is no fault of the hotel, is that here are a lot of kids – I thought there would not be so many kids as school had started, but I was wrong! Get to the breakfast buffet early – it runs from 6 am to 9 am and I would recommend getting there no later than 8 am to beat the “kid” rush.

I would stay here again for sure!

We stayed in a kids suite for 4 nights. 4 adults and 2 kids (3&5). The seperate room with the bunks and bathroom was nice for the kids. Grandpa and Grandma had the other room with the king bed and bath. My husband and I slept on the sofa bed (not too comfy and had to arrange the furniture a bit to open). We found our room to be clean and comfortable. Basically we used the kitchen for snacks and the fridge. One night we had to ask for extra pillow cases....and never received them until our room was cleaned the next day. Breakfast downstairs is ok....it saved $ and time. The hospitality hour was ok...atleast we enjoyed the soda a couple nights. Laundry room is expensive and dryer doesn't dry clothes!! You can get free detergent at the desk. Pool was great(open until 10pm)and there was plenty of towels. A long long walk to Disneyland....We recomend the shuttle. It worked well and came about every 30 minutes. Target is close, Red Robin, Outback, Starbucks at the Hyatt. We chose this place off of this website...and it met our expectations.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with my family of five plus my sister and her 13 yr old daughter. There is one bedroom with a king size bed, another bedroom with two queens, and a living area with a sofa bed and a kitchen area with full size fridge. There were tv's in each room and plenty of closet and drawer space. They also brought up a crib for the baby. It wouldn't fit in the king bedroom so the baby had to sleep in the living area with his brother, which was fine. It was great having all that space and I was really glad we had 2 bathrooms. Also, everything looked nice and new. I hate the grimy used feeling some hotels have. The beds were VERY comfy and the linens were nice. I liked the beds here better than the "heavenly beds" at the hotel we stayed at for the 2nd part of our trip. The free breakfast was wonderful. Hot scrambled eggs with meat and veggies mixed in (or not), french toast one day and bisquits and gravy another, waffles with strawberry sauce, oatmeal, cereal, etc. Saved us a lot of $$$. It would have been nice to be closer to Disneyland so we could have walked, but the money we saved by staying further away was worth it.
