“Excellent Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

Very nice suites at a good price. We got a two-bedroom suite and the kids loved their room with bunk beds and their own bathroom. Breakfast was included (very good selection - eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit - though the eggs were a bit disappointing) and on week nights, dinner too (recommend taco night and BBQ night)! I found it strange (and upsetting) that everything was served on styrofoam plates with disposable cutlery. And there didn't seem to be any recycling or compost. If this bothers you as much as it did me, I suggest bringing dishes from your suite for these meals (also much more pleasant to eat with).

There's a nice pool area and the staff is very nice. Disneyland is only a short bus ride away, though the bus schedule is not very predictable. It runs "about" every twenty minutes. It's about a half hour walk.

We stayed at the hotel in November - 3 of us including our 3 year old daughter. The hotel has a good location, friendly staff and good breakfast. They try hard to organize evening events (like all Residence Inns) for guests. It feels safe to be here and Disneyland and other attractions are easily reachable. They could do a somewhat better job with the frozen food availability after 9 PM. We had one surprising experience - my wife left a pullover behind in the eating area during breakfast on the day we checked out. We forgot about it, but then I clearly remembered having seen it on the chair. While returning from San Diego after a week, we called up to see if we could get it back but strangely we got less than clear answers and no trace of the pullover. This must be have been a one off incident and we have no complaints but found it a bit unexpected.

Room Tip: No particular tip about rooms.

We checked in the morning of Sunday, April 27th for 3 nights. There were no rooms of our type available for early check in (it was after all, only 10 am) so we were able to store our bags until our room was ready while we headed to Disneyland. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite which included a kitchen and small living area. Overall, a great experience with this hotel. I am very picky about where I stay and frankly I have no complaints. The hotel was very clean, updated, comfortable beds and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was a nice addition and had many choices including hot and cold options. My only complaint is that all the plate ware was Styrofoam and cutlery were plastic which produces an obscene amount of trash to add to our landfills. Marriott should really rethink this part...
However, outside of this I would have to give this hotel 5 stars for cleanliness, value, service and accommodations.
It is a little farther from Disneyland but it just means another 5 minutes or so on ART, well worth the extra ride for a great value.

Just got home from 5 nights at a great family Disney adventure! You will be comfortable saying here as there is so much value for a family. Oversized room with a FULL kitchen, good beds, FREE hot breakfast with many fresh choices(something for everyone), super helpful staff(thanks Kristen and Sergio), and minutes to Disneyland. You will either need a car, ART shuttle in front, or a very good pair of walking shoes. MON - THUR also includes a meal reception from 530-700 that changes daily from baked potato bar, burger and dog grill, nachos, Italian and more(also at no additional charge. There were many families eating. Not high end gourmet, but really good N/C perk! Nice pool, many delivery choices, and across the street from decent eateries. No bar but several across the street. Even though certain floors were being remodeled, you were never inconvenienced . This is not a luxury resort but a great family choice with a clean, modern, inviting and SERVICE oriented atmosphere. Thanks once again, guys!

Room Tip: Ask for a Disney view as you can watch the fireworks from your room(no balcony).

We thank you for posting this review. We feel that no hotel in the area caters to large families like the Residence Inn by Marriott. Whether traveling with a family of 5 or even more, the additional space enhances your trip by giving you room to relax after a long day. Our daily breakfast buffet is an added value especially when you are traveling with a family. We hope to see you as a guest again very soon.

The hotel staff was very friendly. We had reserved a one bedroom suite, but were able to upgrade to a two bedroom suite for a very fair price. It was well worth it. The second room had bunk-beds, a kid's size table and chairs, and even a kids size bathroom. The sinks were even a little lower for kids to reach. I wouldn't expect that kind of detail from a residence inn. The rooms had recently been renovated with new carpets, tvs and furniture. The kitchens were well stocked with the essentials, and a short call to get some extra towels that were promptly delivered. The kitchen table was big enough for four/five people.
We requested a crib/pack-and-play for the youngest child. Unlike many hotels, they actually had (clean) sheets and blankets that fit in the pack-and-play. It was a little cold for the pool area, but we did notice they had a small kids pool - next time! The breakfast buffet was the usual stuff. Not great, but not bad. What I would expect. There was even a section of the dining area with smaller tables and chairs for kids. They definitely know and cater to their clientele.
The area is full of hotels and a Target across the street which was convenient if you plan to use the kitchen in the suite. The area restaurants were the usual chain restaurants that are a facade for Sysco foods. The usual chains that you would find anywhere in the US, and plenty of choice.
Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay. The two bedroom suite option is great for a family. It's definitely a hotel full of families visiting the Disney parks.

Room Tip: Two bedroom suites with bunk-beds are great for families.
