“Very good. No complaints.”
Reviewed July 9, 2010

I am extremely fussy, so I was amazed to find not much to complain about with the Embassy Suites. There is an animated lion in the lobby that roars every 30 minutes. My kids were fascinated by it and they constantly waited to hear it roar.
My only qualms are: firstly, the decor of my room was a bit daggy and second, I felt like a pig at a trough queueing for omelettes in the mornings!
Despite that, the rooms were clean, staff attentive, pool was great. I was shocked that there were styrofoam cups for breakfast juices as I found this environmentally unsound. Apart from that, it was fine!

A group of us were in Disneyland because we were performing for dance. We wanted a fun place where we could all hang out when we weren't at the park. Most of the time we were at the park though, so it didn't matter too much. We all wanted rooms on the same floor and a view of Disneyland. We mostly got that except for one of families had to go on a different floor. The staff was just okay. This hotel has a good restaurant with great food. It helps that they give you a coupon. The breakfast in the morning was perfect and the chefs were so friendly! The whole Atrium setup was cool. The shuttle bus was perfect considering that no one wants to walk in the cold at night. The only complaint is that it can get a little noisy at night depending on who's down in the lobby. The waterfall is either relaxing or annoying. Luckily, you can shut the door to your bedroom and you won't hear a thing. All and all it was a nice stay. I would probably stay here again.

Location is a short drive to Disneyland. We did not to expect to pay for parking at ES, but we paid $6/day. We chose to pay the extra $20 for a firework view, would have been nice if it came with the whole package. Breakfast is not of the highest quality, but it IS breakfast and ES seems to have the plan down. They are very quick, they work fast and provide many choices. They even suggest the best times to go down to avoid long lines. Excellent job on getting us through quickly. Same goes for the beverage hours in the middle of the day. Staff were prepared for a crowd and, considering, the many things that could go wrong for the zilion of us that were there for the long weekend, I think they did quite well! Thank you! Room service was quick as was our housekeeping requests.

Front desks folks were very average. They were definitely not going for above and beyond but they were not discourteous either. The room was fine. I just hope that when we return for our kids' 2nd trip to Disneyland that ES has updated their TVs and, especially their living area furniture. We felt quite hesitant to relax on the couch and chair as it felt and strongly appeared worn, unclean and quite old. I appreciate the amenities at ES but DH will not return if there have been no updates. The pool area was sufficient as well. The pool water was chilly to me even in the 80 degree weather.

Thanks for all the positives and please consider our suggestions.

I booked this hotel through Orbitz where they (Orbitz) does not charge you for cancellation fees. However, this hotel charges you 100% for your cancellation, I am not sure if that is only for Orbitz reservations or not. It doesn't matter, the staff at Embassy Suites (Nicole and manager Lawrence) surely don't care. The concert I was attending in June (U2 360 Tour) was cancelled until 2011. Again, Nicole and Lawrence at the Embassy Suites don't care. NO REFUNDS allowed! Good to know to never use this chain, you may have to cancel for unforeseen reasons, again, they don't care.

First off, I want to thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and I completely understand your frustration with the cancellation policy through Orbitz.

Orbitz is a 3rd party company that sells hotel rooms at a discounted rate. Unfortunately, when guests book through Orbitz, there is a no cancellation policy, so there is a risk involved in obtaining the lower rate. We think it is very important for our guests to understand cancellation policies of the 3rd party booking engines before choosing where to book their reservations.

Reservations that are booked on the Embassy Suites Brand website allow cancellations with no penalty, as long as you do so 24 hours before your arrival date. This policy does exclude the Advance Purchase Rate.

Trip to Disneyland with 4 year old. Great price (booked package through Costco), nice large room with all amenities, comforable bed (even the small sofa sleeper), breakfast with hot omelets, free drinks & popcorn daily at mgr's reception. ART pick up right out front. Can be noisy with atrium but we were lucky to be a little tucked away. No balcony or fireworks view so I was a little disappointed. Staff isn't great for customer service at desk or restaurant but we didn't have big complaints. Fridge didn't close tight so we lost some food and milk but still pleased with our experience.

A word of warning, when we stayed here there was some kind of cheerleader convention- which meant lots and lots of teens running around late into the night. going up and down in lifts which made it impossible to get from our room sometimes, as they would push every button. The next week some sort of band from a similar age group stayed and a few teens decided to hang outside our door at 12am and have a loud gossip, even though I rang down nothing was done and they continued to chat and run up and down.. however annoying this was we could understand as it is a teen and kid friendly hotel, so don't let that put you off - unless you are an older traveller looking for peace and quiet.... you probably should go to the hyatt next door.

We stayed here with small children and after vegas were prepared to be let down by this hotel. However it was a welcome break, the moving lion, waterfall, koi carp and turtles in the main lobby delighted my nieces and nephew and the free happy hour from 5pm till 7pm pleased the adults. This was a welcome change from the usual overpriced drinks and snacks we had experienced in previous hotels.

With a range of free spirits and a daily cocktail, popcorn and snacks and $2 slices of pizza. Plus free self service sodas and coffee and tea. Breakfast was a similar set-up with a wide range of food from fruit and cereal to pancakes, meat and made to order omelettes.
The room was spacious with one huge bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in living area, two tvs in each room and a bathroom with a bathtub and stand over powerful shower. There is also a small kitchen area in the main living space with a fridge, microwave and coffee/tea maker and dining room table and chairs.

The room was cleaned immaculately by friendly staff daily, even late if we were in the room during their rounds. One problem was the sofa bed, which we found impossible to pull out sometimes- however staff were on hand to help as soon as we rang down.
The tv featured loads of channels, also free fitness videos and a pay-per-view movie channel with lots of new releases.

One bonus is the self-service laundrette, although it is VERY hot in there and often busy, It can be very useful for a long stay and for those with kids!!

The pool is lovely and smoker friendly (this is a mainly non smoking hotel) and there is a small whirlpool. The gym is small but functional and was nearly always empty when I went in. There is a tiny "business centre" next door, which although small is great for free internet use and print outs, a life saver when our flights were cancelled due to the volcano in Iceland.

The hotel has a bus service, which we had to pay a small fee for to Disney which is great and pulls up right to the entrance and runs quite late into the night. There are also a few great restaurants in walking distance, however I would advise you to book ahead if there is a large group, we were 15 and had to wait an age for tables.

The hotel restaurant is nice, but as a veggie I found my choices quite limited there.
It is best to have a car in this area really as everything is so spacious compared to the UK and that way we could drive to the O.C and L.A from here.

All in all it was a great family hotel, with some nice perks and in a good location for Disneyland.

Had a conference last week in Anaheim, and while the conference hotel was the Hilton Convention Center Hotel at $199/night, booked the Embassy suite 0.8 miles away. I enjoy the Embassy Suites! When traveling with a group of friends, it is always easy to meet up for drinks at the Manager's Special or meet in the morning for breakfast. Check-in was quick. I asked for a room with a view of the nightly Disneyland fireworks, but it was $20 more and could not justify since my work was paying for the trip. This particular Embassy had a jungle theme that was carried out throughout the property.
Pros: Large, spacious suite with comfortable bed...yummy
wide assortment of cable channels including movies
free breakfast, made to order omelets, sweet rolls, french toast, potatoes, etc
free drinks at managers special although no specialty beer, wine, or liquor used
microwave, refrigerator in room,
Serenghetti Grill has + food, drinks

Cons:
Poor lighting and no fan in bathroom. Ladies need to do make-up in bedroom vanity.
Elevators very slow at times
$10/day for Wi-Fi
$12/day parking
Get rid of huge box TV's and go flat-panel!
Fitness room very small
outdoor pool kinda cold
crappy shampoo/conditioner/lotion

All in all great value and love saving money by being provided free breakfast and free drinks. Would stay there again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us. We thrive on our guests feedback so we can make every stay more enjoyable!

I am so happy that you were able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast and manager's reception for each night of your stay.

I understand your concerns with the parking and internet fees. We continue to do market research to ensure that our prices are consistent with our demographic area. We do agree with the "huge TV boxes" and we are happy to report that we see flat panels in every room in the future!

Again thank you for your wonderful feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
