loved everything about this hotel - good location to catch shuttle bus to disneyland. great breakfasts in the morning and very helpful staff. selection of free drinks and popcorn available for short time in evenings although we hardly ever made it back to the hotel in time for it. room was big with separate sitting area. would definately return.

  • Liked — free internet; breakfasts; evening drinks slot
  • Disliked — found it hard to get into downtown LA from anaheim unless booked on a tour

Awesome value for money. Our family of five from New Zealand stayed at the Embassy Suites two blocks south of Disneyland just prior to Christmas 06. It was more than we had expected. Rooms were perfect because our three teenagers had room to move. Having a separate room/lounge for sleeping in was a godsend. Staff were great, food good and well priced, plus the daily 5.30-7.30 happy hour was excellent value for money (free drinks went down real well). Having the complimentary cooked breakfast saved us a lot of money, but increased our waistlines! (we're not used to the huge American servings!) There was free parking, free Internet, ample resort buses, good size pool and spa, and some inexpensive shops and supermarkets nearby.

  • Liked — Clean and modern, great value for money
  • Disliked — Nothing

The hotel is in a good location and I agree with others that the size of the room is good for the price. What made our stay miserable was that they had the fire alarm go off 3 times the night of our stay. The first time was at 9pm, the second time was at 11:40pm and the 3rd time( or at least we think it was the last) went off at midnight. All 3 were false alarms. What really upset me is that the hotel obviously didn't perform an adequate sweep of the hotel the time the 11:40pm alarm went off thereby necessitating another one to go off at midnight. My husband, son and I packed up at midnight and drove home. I wrote the GM a letter asking for some sort of apology and I never got a response. I will never stay there again. I hope that they have the fire alarm issue under control now and have trained their staff how to adequately determine whether it is a false alarm or not the first time it goes off.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel despite Disney being sold out.
The pros)
*Great spacious rooms for the price
*Room service food was great
*Clean and safe
*Close, a direct bus ride on ART $3 to disney
*Nice atrium, koi pond and animatronic lion
*Nice view from our room, we were 7 floors up from the pool

Cons - the breakfast buffet gets pretty crowded during peek season, go early to get a table.

I love embassy suites, it's perfect for families. I enjoy the extra space and I know I will always get good service and a clean room.

I stayed here almost a year ago, but since we are visiting Disneyland again this year, I am reminded of what a great stay we had at the Embassy Suites. I would definitely stay here again.

We paid $120/night which I thought was a great value considering the fact you get a hot breakfast. We ate breakfast there each morning and that saved us money that we were able to use on nicer lunches and dinners. In the afternoon, we would take the shuttle back to the hotel for a nap and would go back to Disneyland in the evening and stop by the hotel's Manager's Reception for some popcorn and slushies. By the way, the shuttle was great each time we took it. It was never late and never really too crowded. Stops right in front of the hotel. The rooms are identical to the photos on this site and very clean. The staff was also very friendly. One negative thing I have to point out is the parking spaces are pretty small and they share the lot with 2 other hotels and a Bucca Di Beppo Restaurant so it can get pretty full. Other than that I had a great time here.

Very nice, large, open hotel. Staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Manager's reception and breakfast were above average. Hilton HHonors VIP guests will get a pass for the manager's reception that's good for free top shelf drinks at the regular bar so you don't have to wait in line. Popcorn and Chex Mix are served at the manager's reception. Pizza is available for $2 a slice.

Rooms were nice. Was upgraded to a king "larger suite" and it was very nice ... very large bedroom with floor to ceiling curved windows. Living area was smaller than most Embassy Suites. I noticed there was a floor for Diamond and Gold VIP guests, however I did not stay on that floor and can't tell you what the difference between the rooms are.

Outdoor pool and jacuzzi look nice. My friend said the jacuzzi was very clean and warm.

Hotel is next to Buca de Bepo Italian Restaurant. Many restaurants in walking distance, including Carl's Jr. and Baker's square. Ate at the hotel restaurant one day for lunch and the food was excellent. Shuttle to Disneyland runs right to the front door .. all day pass is $3. Walgreen's and Target across the street in case you forgot to pack anything. FYI: Takes about 15 minutes to walk to the convention center.

Overall, nice hotel. I'd stay here again. My other business colleagues stayed at the Marriott and Hilton hotels next to the convention center and said the rooms were small and outdated at both.

  • Liked — Very spacious areas, friendly staff, treat HHonors members well
  • Disliked — Rooms on top floor (14) are loud from elevator motor noise, internet connection was slow
  • Tips/Secrets — Ask for larger room upgrade, avoid 14th floor if possible

The hotel in Garden Grove is a fun place to stay. The interior atrium has a 'safari' theme and has waterfalls, mini rock mountains, and a sleeping lion that comes to life and roars every now and then. Nice fish pond as well. It is very pleasant to gaze down into the atrium from your floor. The hotel seems like it was just build and the rooms are in excellent condition. The rooms have fridges, a separate living room, and a huge bathroom. The first time I stayed here I was extremely impressed with the quality of the room.

The room service is excellent, fast, and a good price. If you were to eat at Red Robin or another sit-down restaurant it would cost you more money than ordering room service. Their restaurant's food was excellent as well.

When we stayed the seal around our toilet must have broke and the bathroom filled with an awful smell. We didn't know what the cause was but we told the front desk and as soon as we got back up to our room someone knocked ready to fix the problem. In less than 30 minutes of complaining the toilet had been resealed and all was good.

The free breakfast is another great feature. It's not a donut and cereal "continental" breakfast, it is a hot eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, hashbrowns, and omlettes breakfast. You can't beat that, a similar meal out would set you back $10 a person. The hotel also has "happy hour" where you can get FREE alcohol and snacks. Not just beers, but mixed drinks as well.

I only have two complaints: First you have to pay to use the wireless internet at a rate something like $10 a day that you use it. I think internet should just be provided and am always amazed when hotels charge for it. Secondly, there are only four elevators to service the 13 floors of the hotel. Normally it is not an issue, but during the breakfast rush you will find yourself waiting several minutes for an elevator. When we stayed there it was during a massive heat wave and half the ice machines were not working. One night I had to have an employee get me a bucket of ice from the restaurant (which they were happy to do).

This hotel is great, if you are considering it then just book it, you won't be sorry.

  • Liked — Room quality, friendly staff, and awesome free breakfast and happy hour.
  • Disliked — Had to pay for internet access after already paying $130 a night for the room.
  • Tips/Secrets — Get to breakfast early to avoid the rush.
