“Clean and comfy”

When we got into our room I was happy to see how spacious it was! Not overly huge but a nice amount of room. The beds were comfy and there were nice fluffy pillows. The linens were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was also spacious and clean and the shower had a good spray. The hotel is in a great location also. Right across the street is a Target, Walgreens, and a Cocos restaurant. Right next door are a few restaurants including a Red Robin. We walked over for dinner one night. They also have a shuttle to Disneyland that runs every 30 min.

my trip started out bad when my wife and i booked a room at a ramada limited in buena park we got there a hour before our check in we just drove 5 hours we had tickets to a event in hollywood we had to hurry up and get to with la traffic the guy refused to check us in we could see no cars in the lot the windows curtains were open we could see clean vacant rooms so we got ready in the bathroom in the lobby we went to our event came back at one in the morning the night guy checked us in we had booked two queens their were 3 of us he gave us a king argued with us told us to take it up with hot wire not his problum we called hot wire they refunded our money but we didnt have a room we are 5 hours away from home on a limited budget already had money on room we ended up sleeping in the car next morning hot wire booked me here at the sheraton they let us check in at 9 in the morning they were great after a awful night the night before im very thankful to the staff there thank you

Dirty floors in lobby, elevator, hallway and room. We spilled water on our flood so we placed a towel there to soak it all up. The water and dirt from the rug turned the towel brown! Shampoo carpets and vacuum twice a day people! Spa temp out of order, only hot water for one shower and got tired of cold showers. Questioned a lot when we requested extra towels but we had four to a room but three towels. Desk did have free sewing kit. Everyone at front desk nice. Twice we walked past irate guests upset with staff on desperate days. I do not recommend. Stay at the Ayres.

Upon check-in with my three grandkids, they neglected to tell me they were putting me in a room with only a King-sized bed. When I went back down to question this, they said, "Sorry, that's all we have." Okay, so I need a roll-away, I'm pretty flexible. "That'll be $20 a night." So they can't put me into a room with two queens and then want to charge me $20 more as a result? The next day the more professional and better trained staff made it right, but their evening staff is clearly not well trained. While there, we heard at least three other people get animatedly upset about different issues. Ultimately, this is just a pit stop hotel. The shuttle service to Disneyland was decent for three bucks. Easy walking distance to a few restaurants and Target. Parking was pretty crowded or was forced to be valet (at no extra charge). Got back to the room at about 5:00 and the maid was still in there just getting started. Room was pretty small, dominated by the king bed. Like so many other businesses that have a location virtually guaranteeing X amount of business, this Sheraton is run without worrying about how to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable. A better GM would set that right, but then again, it wouldn't necessarily result in that much more business, just a better reputation for Sheraton.

This is a long review, but I'll provide the summary of what you can expect if you just want the overview. Here's what you can expect.

The hotel will NOT honor confirmations especially if you're booking through a third party (Starwood, Priceline).
Expect to receive additional charges on your bill.
Expect to get additional charges for unknown services after you leave.
Expect it to be difficult, if not impossible, to get to the charges removed.
Expect an overall lack of customer service.

Here are the gory details. We booked two rooms on the club level through Starwood. We used existing points and purchased additional points to get the rooms. We received confirmations from the HOTEL confirming the rooms and the rate.

On the morning of checkout, received the bill an upcharge for club level access (already paid for through Starwood). Asked the manager at the front desk to remove the charges and they indicated that they'd take care of it.

4 hours later upon checkout, the charges were still on the bill. Asked the workers at the front desk to take care of it and they indicated that the manager had to do it and she was not available (she was in the parking lot directing traffic for an event). They indicated that we could simply send an email after we left to get this resolve.

Sent email and received no response for several days. However, we did receive additional charges on the bill which I have no idea what they are for.

Called the hotel directly and nobody answered. Left several voice mails and no response.

Escalated the issue to Starwood. Starwood reviewed the case and indicated that they would get this resolved within 3 days. Two weeks later, Starwood indicated that they were not getting an adequate response from the hotel. They offered to compensate us through the program. I'm happy with Starwood's response. We still enjoy the brand and the program, we just think they should remove their name from this hotel.

Here are some other general comments. Another reviewer put it best when they stated "there is a culture that does not value customer service and honesty". The focus of the management appeared to be on managing events at the hotel and other activities not directly tied to the guests. I can confirm comments placed by other reviewers such as:
- The hotel has an odd smell to it.
- Dishes can sit in the halls for days after guests place them in the hallway.
- The parking lot small.
- They charge for everything (internet, parking, etc...). More importantly, they don't give you this information up-front.

Do not go here if you have a dog...
I stayed two nights and was charged $150.00 for my dog to stay. (Small Dog)
That is on top of the nightly rate for me to stay. And the $12.00 for parking in an already full lot. And $10.00 for a slow Internet.

I'm a Gold Preferred Guest with Starwood and spend 90% of my stays at Sheraton. I will not be going back to this Sheraton again. There are two others in Anaheim and both are better. The most I've ever paid for my dog staying at Sheraton is $20.00 a night. And that was at a very high-end Sheraton; where I got a dog bed and dog treats.

This Sheraton obviously does not want people to stay with their family pet. They should just have rules about not allowing them. Not surprise you with an exorbitant fee.

Don't go here. Unless you hate dogs, don't care where you park or have no need for the Internet.

Oh.... and Disney Land is like 3 miles away. Not a pleasant walk. And the bus is a joke. You are going to have to drive and pay to park there as well.

Wonderful people and clean rooms. We have been watching many episodes of Hotel Impossible and Hotel Hell and knew exactly what to look for. Comfortable beds and large rooms. Great deal and a great experience!
