This place is a Fresno icon. I'd heard about it and always looked forward to trying it but every time I drove by the parking lot was so packed I didn't even attempt it. The kids (17 and 21) and I finally all made it in because my daughter absolutely loves the place. She was right. Amazing and tasty food that did not disappoint. If you're young and don't mind noise and people right in your space, the food compensates for the auditory and spacial sensory overload.
If you're not under 30, and don't like to shout to make yourself heard over the mind-numbing noise of the place, you might leave needing an hour in a sensory deprivation tank. And our neighboring business men diners were SO close I could've picked the lint of off one of their jackets and mowed down the nose hair on the other guy (if I'd thought to bring my trimmers). We heard every word of their conversation which, unfortunately, wasn't that scintillating.
Be prepared to wait for parking and be patient. Wear your ear plugs or shove those Ipod headphones in really deeply. When your dining mates speak to you, just smile and nod because it won't make a difference. They wouldn't know what you were saying if you yelled your answers back anyway. Trust me though, the food IS worth it. Enjoy!
