My husband and I brought our twin 6 year old daughters here for a two night stay on our way from San Francisco to Disneyland. We also visited the Endangered Cat Haven in Dunlap.
The room is very big and clean. The WHITE bedding is snowy and crisp and unable to hide anything (stains, etc) the way a dark floral bedspread found in so many hotels can. There is a wall-to-wall archway between the bed area and the sofa, chair, and desk area, making the sound less bouncy.
The pool is tiny and under a deck, so there's no way to lay in the sun. That works for me, but some might be disappointed. And by "tiny" I mean 12' x 12' with a depth of 3.5 - 4 feet. Completely shaded. My girls enjoyed it and I was not worried about their safety since they were always almost within arms reach!
I like that the breakfasts at the HI Expresses have protein, not just carbs, too.
