“Sad little burger”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

We went to the In-n-Out Burger on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. We looked forward to it because so many people had said how good it was. We don't get it. The hamburger was very plain with a single piece of cold iceberg lettuce on a plain old hamburger bun. Nothing special and actually pretty poor. The service wasn't particularly friendly or polite although it wasn't outright bad. I just don't understand why people love this place. I thought perhaps because it was at Fisherman's Wharf where it's an easy place for tourists it wasn't as good as other locations. I would never go again and I would discourage anyone from going there.

“Best Burgers ever”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I LOVE In-n-Out, so when I went gluten free I was concerned. But they make a great protein burger wrapped in lettuce, and you can order it animal style. Just plan on it being yummy and drippy. There is absolutely NO PLACE else that can beat the hamburgers and the value.

“Very Good Burgers”

No frills. You are literally in and out but while going out you are happy.... there are some options that are not on the menu - like double double or even triple - double cheese and double meat and so on...... They keep it simple and they make it good.....

“A burger's a burger.”

There is no excuse for operating any restaurant--burgers or no--in a sloppy and messy environment. We won't return.

“California classic”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

Even if you don't like In-n-Out Burger's food, you have to admire their principles (fresh food, excellent benefits for workers, unwillingness to rapidly expand). The potatoes for the french fries are peeled, cut, and fried right in front of you. The hamburgers and milkshakes are good. For vegetarians, the "grilled cheese" (cheeseburger without the meat) is really good, too.

The menu is extremely small (burgers, fries, shakes, and that's about it), but they make the food right. If you want to order like a local, ask for one of the menu items using the "secret menu items" found on their website:
