“Best Hotel in Fresno”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2006

Recently stayed at the Four Points Fresno while in town to see Madonna. From the previous reviews I read I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was happy to have no problems whatsoever. Property and grounds are very nice and room was spotless. Rooms were larger than average and the beds were very comfortable. I noticed other people mentioned that this hotel had no air conditioning but our room DID have air conditioning and it worked very well. From what I could see, this looked to be the nicest hotel in the area. I would not hesitate to stay again.

We left the Monterey peninsula(see Lighthouse Lodge,Pacific Grove)for a day in Yosemite(not enough time)and coming off the scenic high of Glacier Point and Yosemite Valley and driving the switchback roads we were beat and needed a comfortable bed.The four points did not let us down. The beds were the highlight of this stay which for a traveler is very important. The room was nice enough and the tree womenhad no issues with the bath.Second floor facing pool was good.Climbing one set of stairs no big deal. Was quiet enough. The biggest gripe I had was with the reservation process. It was a wednesday night and not very busy.First two clerks would not accept entertainment card.I called a couple weeks ago to get the rack rate($170) and she said no problem getting half off($85).Finally after15 minutes on the phone with Chris(supervor)he came back and said $92.I said ok.All this hastle to bump me 7 bucks. With no breakfast(just room cofeemaker)it wasn't the best value. For those who pay $125 or more I would look around.Picadilly would not accept ent. card either. All in all,for one night in a comfortable it was ok.As some others mentioned the ac unit was older and did not function well.Parking was fine, fairly easy on off Rt.41.When reserving ask for the supervisor or manager to get your best deal. The ground and flowers pleasing.Would stay again if ever in Fresno.

The room we were given was on the ground floor of the main building that houses reception. While the room was large and clean the bathroom was a bit shabby (but clean). We found you could hear every footstep from the room above us so it made sleeping a bit difficult. The staff here were very friendly and the free internet access was handy for doing some travel research. The location is close to shopping there are lots of places to eat. All in all I would say the hotel is OK to stay at but would expect more for the money, it was one of the dearer places we stayed at while on holiday.

The hotel consists of several two-story buildings (with no elevators) which show their age. The outside looks worn and inside rooms and hallways have a bad odor you have to fight against by opening the window and turning on the fan at the same time. That said there is nothing negative to report further. The structures surround an attractively landscaped pool area. Rooms are much larger than in modern hotels.
Our room had a King Size bed (one of the new Sheraton Four Comfort Beds), an ottoman, a large desk, ergonomic chair, and recliner. The bathroom consists of a dressing area and a bath/shower combination. Several large mirrors replace the usual pictures on the wall. Staff was friendly and housekeeping did an excellent job. In the lobby is a guest computer with large screen monitor and printer.
We stayed four nights and felt comfortable once the bad odor was gone. Staying in this hotel is a bit like going back in time. Nowadays they would probably construct three highrises on the same piece of property and all the charm would be gone. You have to know what you are getting into when choosing this hotel. But I can imagine that there are more people like us who enjoy this place in spite of its few negatives.
