“Not so cheap special”
Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Had early dinner, and when seated noticed picture on the table of lobster
& a filet, there special. Order it to split with my wife. She likes the filet and me the lobster. When served, WOW smallest tail I have been served in memory. Wife enjoyed the filet, but lobster was sub par. And in the $30.00 range, terrible.

“Tahoe Joe Restaurant”

We have never been disappointed with lunch or dinner here. The prices are reasonable for what you get-great, tender steaks, yummy vegetables, tempting desserts.

“Good for lunch, too.”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

We tried T-J's for lunch, and were pleasantly surprised. Service is prompt. We got the Shrimp app -- quite good-- and steak lunch plates. You get good value, and the lunch servings are not skimpy. At dinner the noise level can get fairly high, and we've sometimes gone elsewhere for a quieter meal. This time the atmosphere was quite nice. If you haven't been there, T-J's has a "mountain" theme befitting its name.

“Solid and Reliable”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

Solid service and reliable food. The steak is great and the happy hour deals are worth a visit. The drinks are over priced outside of happy hour.

“Solid Steakhouse”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

I wanted to hold off on giving this review until I had visited this restaurant a few times to be able to give a qualified assesment of the place. My first time at Tahoe Joe's, I was very underwhelmed by the food. To be fair, I got the Whiskey Peppercorn Chicken and not a slab of meat. The Chicken was horrible. It was overdone, and the Whiskey Peppercorn sauce was too salty for my taste.

However, on subsequent visits, I have gotten the Prime Rib (twice) and the Herb Roasted half Chicken (once). When I got the 1/2 roasted chicken and rib dinner, the waitress highly recommended it saying it was amongst the best she's ever had. Trust me, that dish and the chicken dish mentioned above LEFT alot to be desired. However the Prime Rib at Tahoe Joe's is great. Enjoyed getting it with the Baked Potato and all the fix-ins. The dinner rolls meh.

Another great thing about Tahoe Joe is their Lemonade. It is amazing, and it comes in a large jar. Please do yourself a favor and order it (Or an Arnold Palmer if you don't like it too sweet). Also do yourself a favor, stick to the Meats (and Clam Chowder as your soup) at this restaurant. The chicken dinners were not great, but this is why Tahoe Joe's is a steakhouse and NOT a Diner.
