“I second the "5-Star Restaurant at 3-Star Prices" Expertly prepared food”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

On the way back from a trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, my mom and I stopped by Cafe Via for dinner on the advice of the below reviews from TripAdvisor (and because they were open at 4pm). Best decision we made during the entire trip!

We wanted good quality food at a reasonable prices after being ripped off time and time again at Ahwahnee restaurant at Yosemite. We were expecting an average but tasty meal at Cafe Via, but we received five star sauces, tender steaks, creative and unexpected salads, and home made deserts. In other words, our food was 5-star quality and not in any way average. Of course, they don't have the Ahwhnee grand dining room, but Cafe Via seems to be family owned, and the care they put into their restaurant is very noticeable.

We highly recommend Cafe Via, and we believe that if you try it, you'll be surprised and delighted.

“Great food and service for reasonable price.”

We ordered pasta and pepper steak and both were delicious.

In the wine list you can find a few selected items from all over the world.

What makes this restaurant exepcional is very friendly staff.

“Best Restaurant in Town...By FAR!”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

Cafe Via is Fresno's shining star! For the past 2 years, my entire family has frequented the restaurant and have always had the best, most personalized and professional service, as well as the most incredible food! Chef/Owner, Matthew Babcock knows what he's doing. They use locally grown produce and provide locally crafted beers, which is a great support to our local economy. There are seasonal menus and daily specials that can't be beat. The portion sizes are perfect and the prices are reasonable, if not cheap for what you get. As another reviewer said, "5-Star Restaurant at 3-Star Prices." That's so true. Also, they offer fantastic desserts! My favorite is Grandma B's Coconut Cake and my favorite entree is Creole Pasta with Shrimp. My mouth is watering as I write this! :)

“5-Star Restaurant at 3-Star Prices”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

I've been to Cafe Via several times over the past two years, and have tried various items on their menu. Brent and Matt, the chefs and owner, pay exquisite attention to details, and use fresh ingredients for all of their meals. For their pre-Super Bowl party, one of the items on the list were the Dragon Fire Wings, made with a lethal mix of Ghost Pepper and Trinidad Scorpion Peppers -- two of the hottest peppers known. These were scorching hot, but it was a wonderful pain! A couple of weeks after that was their Valentine's Day dinner, and from the appetizers of crab cakes and salad, through the entree (mine were the seafood crepes, and my husband had steak), and then through dessert, this was a fantastic meal. I just absolutely love this restaurant, their food and their staff. You really can't go wrong here unless you're one of those people who will find fault with anything.

“Great job!”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

We went to Cafe Via last evening for a Valentine's Day dinner and they did a great job turning the restaurant into a romantic evening - rose petals, pink runners on table, sparkling wine, wait persons wearing splashes of red, etc. They served a set menu that included crab cake appetizer, salad, choice of entree, and dessert. The price was very reasonable, service excellent, and the food was very good. The wine list is solid for the size of restaurant and price. We have been here before and have always been pleased. They also do a good job with larger parties of 8-12 people.
