My boyfriend and I always try to find a great deli at least once every trip and had heard from the locals that Sam's was the place. We stopped on the way to the airport because we hadn't made time for it during the trip and we were glad we did. I had the muffaletta and my boyfriend had the spicy paisano piccante - both were very good. We ordered a side of mixed olives that were great. Thankfully we arrived about 11 because the line got long within half an hour although it appeared the staff was quick in filling orders. There is outdoor seating and the Californians obviously thougth 65 degrees was a little cold because we were the only ones seated. The locals picked up their food and left. The market looked very well stocked. We'll make a point to try something else next time even though it doesn't appear to be located in the best part of town.

The wait was kind of long and seemed somewhat chaotic and organized. It was my first visit and it was on a Friday at lunch. It was very busy, which is a good sign. Once the sandwiches were actually ordered the wait was short. The eating area is limited to outside only. The meatball sandwich was very good. I will come back to try more items from the menu.

My now husband took me here on our second date for sandwiches. We now live in the area and shop here often. It's truly a family atmosphere in there. The food is top notch Italian, the sandwiches are some of the best we've ever had. For the vino enthusiasts this is the place to shop. They have a vast array of everytype of wine in all price ranges. Also the staff will help you purchase the correct items you need for your menu. Sometimes even giving thier own recipes to help you. Sam's is a great place to have a saturday afternoon lunch or pick those items for a great Italian dinner.

Wonderful wine selection and knowledgeable staff. Purchased wine, recommended by staff, for Thanksgiving. The family loved the wines. Huge selection of meats and cheeses. Used the Italian sausage in the stuffing-tremendous! Very
Fun spot. Always crowded during the lunch hour.

I've lived in this area for 58 years and can't believe how many locals have never been here. This is a huge Deli with a full case of meats and cheeses, made to order sandwiches, beer, specialty sodas and a very large wine selection with wines from all over the world. The bread is fresh and you can get pre-made Italian dishes, or buy the ingredients and make the dishes yourself. There is a small outside area with tables for eating. You know it's good food when you see uniformed Police Officers eating there.Quick and friendly service make this place a must stop when visiting Fresno. Be sure to get some of their freshly made Mild Italian Sausage to take home and throw on the Barbeque. MMMMMMMMMM
