“Sticky Buns not Exciting”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

We have gone to the Bakery many times. They are famous for their "Sticky Buns" They are huge and must weigh over 2 pounds , but this time they were just a big lump of dough, dry and lacking in the gooey nutty topping. We won't be getting those again. But their Gardens are beautiful and they have scones and breads. I did sample a cheese bread and it was good. They are only open Fri-Mon.

“Fantastic bread and pretty garden”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Wild Flour Bakery and Gardens is located in the hamlet of Freestone, CA about 15 miles west of Santa Rosa and 5 miles from Sebastopol. It is open Friday through Monday only and draws a big weekend crowd. All bread--dense, substantial loaves--is baked on-site in brick ovens. There are many selections including several unusual flavors, and the bakery is also famous for scones and sticky buns. We visited early on a Sunday afternoon and the line was about 20 customers deep. It doesn't move very fast because everyone wants to taste the many choices, so plan on spending some time. Also bring cash, because they don't take plastic. Parking is limited, and consists of a small dirt lot adjacent to the bakery and garden, a few spaces on the sides of the building, and on-street parking along the sides of the road, so be prepared to walk.

A small garden with wildflowers, herbs, and vegetables adjoins the bakery and made for a pleasant stroll to help work off some of the scones we ate! Since we were there in February, there wasn't a lot in bloom yet, but unseasonably warm weather coaxed a few bulbs and early wildflowers. There are also some outdoor benches where you can sit and enjoy your treats, weather permitting.

“Short and sweet”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

The bakery reviews are accurate. Funky but tasty place to spend your time, inside or out. But the gardens are a treat. Small, varied, and very well done.

“Delicious homemade, fresh breads scones and biscotti”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

We visit this little gem of a bakery whenever we are on the Sonoma coast. This place is definitely a highlight and they know how to bake! The breads are delicious and they are really interesting...artisan style with fresh herbs and spices. They do have sour dough baguettes if you are not interested in trying some of their other breads.

The scones are delicious. We love the strawberry and dark chocolate scones and the Meyer lemon and fresh peach scones. Wow! They are so fresh and delicious. This place is most famous for the sticky bun that probably weighs at least 1lb and can feed at least 4 people. It's delicious and you should definitely try it.

The cappuccinos were good. Their is a beautiful garden on the property with fresh herbs and vegetables and fruits that are used for the ingredients. There are tables inside and outside for you to sit and enjoy your food. Definitely walk through the lovely garden.

One important point: BRING CASH. NO CREDIT CARDS ARE ACCEPTED.
I think they will take a personal check but it has to be from a California bank.
