“The first place I go when arriving in Fort Bragg”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2014

This is the first place I go when I arrive in Fort Bragg. I always order the same thing, the fish and chips which comes with coleslaw. There reason I like Cap'n Flints is the fish and chips is different that any other place I've ever had fish and chips. The fish is very lightly battered, so lightly that you can hardly tell that it is battered. Everywhere else, the batter is really thick and sometimes a little doughy. Not here. There rest of the food is just average, but I only come for the fish and chips. I don't order the shrimp, but I've been told that is it excellent. They also have a nice selection of local beers and beers from Northern California.

Cap'n Flints is located in Noyo Harbor and was used in the film Overboard with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. It hasn't changed much in all the years I've been going there. Same decor, same good service and sometimes you see the Cap'n. If not, there is a picture of him with Goldie Hawn who is looking totally bored. If you get a window seat you get a good view of the harbor and can see the boats going out or coming in. It is open for lunch and dinner, same small menu for both.

“Best Fish and Chips ANYWHERE!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2014

I absolutely love Cap'n Flints, and have been going there for years. Fresh fish, house made cole slaw and tartar, house made fries... This place can't be beat! I live out of town now, but always look forward to coming back for a meal and a great view of the sunset. Tonight was just another consistently excellent experience. Thanks you guys!

“Don't judge by cover”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2014

Was recommended by local for fish & chips and we were not disappointed , don't judge by decor or the lack there of. We had fish, prawns both with chips. Fish was battered lightly and tasted very fresh as we're the prawns. Service was great.

“Gone way downhill”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

If an owner reads this I hope they take note.... your servers are killing your business and get your old recipes back or get some new good ones. Your servers are coarse. They argued in front of the customers, aren't at all professional, act put out, did paperwork on the counter, look like you dug them out of a truck stop or drug rehab and disappeared leaving people waiting for everything. The breading on the fish n chips is disgusting. Try a good batter. You ruined the clam chowder. Fries tasted of heavy dirty oil and old.
