The location is a little off-putting (it's at the end of a run-down strip mall, next to a laudromat, behind CVS), but don't let that stop you. The reviews are spot-on. This place is a gem! Popular with the locals, and we see why! Great food, but crowded, so service is a little on the slow side. Don't miss the grilled fish (salmon) tacos and the shrimp ceviche tostadas.

This restaurant is hard to find as it is in a strip mall next to a laundramat and behind CVS. We had to wait for a table for about 10 minutes (1 pm on a Sunday) which wasn't a problem. It is small and seems to be visited by lots of local people. Just the usual burrito, tacos, etc. but very well prepared, nice wait staff. Apparently they have menudo on Sundays which several were having--we did not. Large portions, reasonable prices.

It is a hole-in-the-wall place (it seems Ft. Bragg is full of them), that's best found by just looking for the CVS. It's near the back, small and it can be crowded, but is worth it.

Like any good taqueria, it has a nice choice of meats and sauces. It was just good food and good service at a good price. It's probably the place to go if you are yearning for authentic Mexican.

I would write more about the place except that the one big memory we have of it was a young man feeding his dog from a can of dog food outside the CVS. The thing is, though, the man also ate from the can after his pet was finished. It was sad and a little touching at the same time (he chose to buy dog food instead of a can of beans or Spam). But you felt a wave of guilt wash over you as there we and other diners were sitting in front of a window, filling ourselves on delicious food, all in full view of a man sharing a can of Alpo with his dog. It kind of reminded me of the restaurant scene in The French Connection, except this was real and a lot more sad.

On that visit there seemed to be a lot of homeless younger people around town and some had dogs. This particular young man and dog had walked away before my Mom had a chance to buy him some tacos or something. We kept an eye out for him the next few days, always driving slowly by the CVS, as we wanted to buy him some food (well, and his dog too), but never saw them again.

Sorry for going off topic.

A little hard to find on the side street and not very big but was excellent authentic Mexican food. The service was great and the food was delicious. Extensive menu and huge portions. Definitely eat here if you are looking for Mexican food!

Found this little authentic mexican place at the back of a strip mall almost hidden by the CVS - but we had to wait for a table and found the food to be exactly what we wanted from a local place. Small seating area, not fancy, and a terrific Salmon Taco for $2.99! Many small plates for $3-5. All were good.
Only thing overpriced was the can of coke for $1.75.
