Owner description: Perched right on the edge of the wild blue Pacific, Pacific Star has welcomed guests for 30 years. Classic as well as rare and unusual varietals and blends are our specialty, with grapes sourced from Mendocino County's heritage vineyards. We encourage guests to bring a picnic and experience amazing forces of nature and incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. Whales pass by just off the rocks and sea and bird life is vibrant. Our friendly and casual tasting room awaits your visit! Open 12 to 5 daily except Tuesday & Wednesday.

The scenery was really nice, but you quickly forget that when you enter the winery because your distractions are loud rock music and dogs. One dog on a leash, but the big sheep dog let loose. After sampling wines the sheep dog bit my friend (surface bite, but enough to start to bleed). Told owner and she put the dog in the house and said "her dog doesn't bite people". Said he was a puppy and she should spend time with him. Never apologized but was upset because "this is not how she wanted to end her day". The whole experience from the loud music, the dogs, the winery itself and the owner was very unprofessional.

We were driving the PCH from Washington to southern California, hoping that we would find a winery or two along the way. We noticed the property first, noting how beautiful it was, and quickly turned around when we realized that it was, indeed, a winery. I am so glad for that u-turn! The view is beyond words, the wine was excellent and the hospitality was warm and inviting. After ordering a half-case for shipment to our home, we ordered a glass so that we could sit by the edge of the ocean and enjoy the fantastic view. An incredible experience and a memorable day during our trip. Don't miss this winery if you're ever in the area!

Stopped at this winery on a drive south along the coast on Hwy 1. It is located on a beautiful, isolated point of land jutting into the Pacific. A picnic area at the winery offers stunning ocean views. The winery staff was very friendly and helpful. The wine tasting consisted of most of their white and red wines. One of our favorites was "Its My Fault" - nice, smooth red blend, named for a fault line running through the property. They also sell cheese, crackers and sausages for those interested in a snack in the picnic area.

This is not a winery you find by accident. My wife and i had heard of the winery from friends and drove 12 miles N of Fort Bragg on a twisty section of Hwy 1 to find the winery. It was well worth the drive. The winery sits on a beautiful stretch of coast and has views that go on for miles. We were warmly greeted by a lovely lady in the tasting room and were having such a great time talking with her that we stayed much longer than intended. Though not memorable, the wine was surprisingly good and we thoroughly enjoyed our tasting. A fun stop if you are in the Fort Bragg area.

Setting is outrageously beautiful. Even if you're not into wine the views are the best. Tasting room is in a cool semi-underground storage area with barrels of wine aging right in front of you. The wine tasting tables are huge pieces of burl redwood tables. Unique pictures of lumberjack days. Our server had a great personality and he really made the tasting fun. We felt no pressure to purchase the wine and were not hurried to get through our tasting. We brought more bottles than we intended because we had such a good time. They have cheese and crackers to buy there or bring your own and enjoy the picnic area. Be sure to walk down to the fence as the views just get better and better.
