“Um, Napa kinda sucks compared to this....by Possibly the last Bay Area couple to join a wine club...”
Reviewed March 20, 2012

OK, the location is AMAZING- RIGHT on the ocean- the waves crash and you feel the mist.
Plus there are sheep. I LOVE sheep!!!
The woman who owns it and her partner are irreverent, super chill, super knowledgeable, and completely lacking in pretention.
The wine is awesome. We were possibly the only remaining non-wine club members in the entire Bay Area and we signed up immediately. We never agree on wine. We never like a winery's everything. Until we got here!

“Great view, AND great wine!”
Reviewed March 18, 2012

Living close to Napa Valley, I frequently enjoy wine tasting. But one of the things that Napa is quickly losing is that friendly, low-key atmosphere of what what tasting used to be. Pacific Star Winery is a great find in an unlikely place. North of Fort Bragg, the winery is located right on the ocean with a fabulous view. There is even a picnic area for you to enjoy. The winemaker/owner worked in Napa in former days, but has been in this location for some time. Although there are no grapes grown here, the wine is made at this location, and the wine is quite good and AFFORDABLE. The hostess was delightful and unpretentious. A couple of friendly dogs greeted us. We spent some time taking pictures, too. A definite stop for anyone who enjoys wine - or maybe just photography. There was a minimal tasting fee - but nothing like Napa Valley. Well worth the drive!

“Long drive- little reward”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

Drove all the way to their 'tasting room' barn. Not a great road, and 15 miles from town. The owner was a stingy snob, and her wines weren't all that great. I didn't buy any of her wine, and would NEVER go back. Visit at your own distaste....

“Friendly Staff, Great Wine and Amazing Location”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

This winery is located North of Mendocino up the coast. It is has a great tasting room that is unpretentious with friendly staff. We tasted a lot of wine. Their wines were reasonably priced and we decided on the Viognier to enjoy at the picnic tables outside. The scenery was breathtaking and picture perfect. I couldn't think of anywhere more beautiful on the coast to enjoy a glass of wine.
